Here in the states, we are given a warranty deed when we buy land. This binds us to the municipalities jurisdiction. However, we can request from the Bureau of Land Management a certified copy of the letters patent for our lands Metes and Bounds. After collating the relevant sales history combined with the Land Patent we can post it on a public bulletin board such as a town hall or library for 60 days plus one. At the end of the 61 days we take it to the county recorders office so it can be recorded as our land thereby, nullifying the warranty deed. At this point we are forever free to do what we will with our land without planning permission, permits, inspections, codes and ordinances. And this without reprisal.

How and where would you store preserved foods? What about frozen meats etc… how is that stored?

Just a follow-up to my comment of one year ago. We ended up installing a total of 10 x Pylontech US3000C units. These are matched to 15.1kW of solar panels and 15KVA of inverters (all Victron.) We commissioned our off-grid system on the 10th Oct. 2023 and have not had as much as one second of downtime since. The batteries have excelled. One of the blessings of being in Australia, especially where we are in Australia, is the abauncance of sunshine. So far the state of charge of our batteries has never dropped below 50% after an overnight discharge and has only on three occasions failed to get to 100% by the end of the next day. This is keeping the batteries right in their "zone."

why would you need an inverter for this? couldn't you just stick weld direct current straight out of the battery?

Hi, Ross birds aren't as bad as that. But if you want the best of both worlds try a Hubbard (either a JA87 or JA57), they'll be oven ready in 12/14 weeks but are much hardier. Love the content! Harry

The society will use protocols as an excuse to keep you in the system...but sometimes you need to gather courage to look beyond protocol even if it means thousands of government officials are looking for you and want to put you in prison. It's not about your personal sacrifices that stops you from taking the steps but what consequences it will lead to down the road. My belief is that the moment you take that step outside the system there is no turning back because you have burned all the bridges. It's a life changing decision. To me it's a spiritual decision, I do it for religiouse purposes!

My neighbour has just got permission to build three houses in his garden . The local farmer has built vast buildings for indoor boot sales and has artics delivering good there and basically running out of it and it’s a 7.5ton country road . John bloor has been granted permission to build over a thousand houses in a field quarter of a mile away or less . But I got turned down for a 2mx4m porch 🤦‍♂️

Charles dowding has perfect soil, sandy loam. So its alright for him, easy peasy. Not so much for us mere mortals who have crap soil. Mines sandy, so opposite to your clay but still crap. Ive put guttering on my polytunnel and ive used tape and its been fine. Its on the north side though so doesnt get hot in the sun. I wonder if the glue on yours melting in the heat? This is a great tutorial kzread.info/dash/bejne/nJ55usqCgpPLj6g.htmlsi=w1y7ceokUcOZehXA Steve is well worth a follow. He grows for 16 people year round. His methods work. Im only in my third year and have been self sufficient for 18 months, just from growing in my back garden. I dont buy veg at all now, or strawberries or raspberries. Ive no room for fruit trees or id have them too. Keep uo the great work!

Such an inspiring video, I hope to do a similar thing in my garden over the next few years. I'm not sure if it would be your thing or not, but squirrel is quite tasty meat. Get yourself a decent air rifle and make use of them as another abundant food source.

This is the first one of your vids that's come up on my timeline in over a year (yeah I checked). I'm sure the last vid I saw you were moving to Scotland and I assumed the vids had just stopped. Maybe I have your channel confused with another re the Scotland bit. Just binge watched and agree with every 'controversial' thing you said.

So pleased that you found us again 😊 We have land in Scotland, but no plans for a permanent move. We haven’t been as consistent with videos over the past year. Working part time, having two children and growing food in our takes up most of our time. Hoping to be more consistent now though so hopefully we’ll pop up on your home feed again 😊

Full self sufficient is very hard to get to. But its well worth pacing yourself enough to get at least 50 percent there. We are ninety-five percent off grid and water is 100. Food maybe 35. Food is the hardest part. Fox keeps raiding the chicken's. Veggies easiset to grow in beds or large buckets. Plenty of fruit and herbs. Cant complain. Firewood for heating and some cooking. Tractor is huge plus. Front end loader saves many hours of back breaking work. Upgraded automatic chicken shed door. Make chickens perch high in shed so fox cant reach them if he gets in. Foxes have been shot recently. Crows too. They are egg thieves.

We have two Cane Corsos and they are great for security but they’ve got a high prey instinct so we don’t generally film when they’re out and about as we have to keep a close eye on them 😳
