The comment section here seems like Russia's IRA at work... On a related note, I wouldn't be surprised if today's incident with Slovakia PM is a rumble of more widespread active measures in other states 'open' to Russia. There's certainly precedent for it.

Can you do a video on the Thai Kingdom of Ayuthaya. How the British went to two wars and took the territories belonging to Thailand. How when they decided to give independence to the Malay States they did not return the territories they force the Thais to give up.

Thank you. Slovenia is a wonderful country in so many ways. But this was certainly one of its darker chapters. It has been amazing to read comments from some people condemning those who didn’t apply in time. They forget that it was a very different time, before the internet. It was also a period when the region was descending into war. There were all sorts of reasons why people might not have applied in time. I give the Brexit example. Even with years of warning about the need to apply for settled status in Britain, hundreds of thousands still failed to meet the deadline. That didn’t mean that they all refused to accept Brexit. It meant that a lot of people aren’t aware of things for a variety of reasons, including illness and mental health issues.

@@JamesKerLindsayhi James, thanks for the reply, imo because whilst we may not be happy with our government at all times, we the people are not savages. Democracy fundamentally relies on us being able to comprehend the responsibility it instrusts to us, given that we the people vote (well not so much uk party candidates), but get to vote on parties, their policies, it may be obvious to say that a similar yet different human rights charter will need to be created. The UK for a long time has arguably required a citizens human rights charter or a charter similar to the US constitution that protects the citizens rights (especially in an age of constant tech advancement and an ever changing polarising geo-pol setting). I personally believe once it is revoked, the need for a new one will naturally arise, though In this situation, it is up to the UK to decide the details. Keeping something that isn't fit or no longer suitable in place untill enough people recognises it has a overall harmful impact, is why many are losing faith in democracy, delay, debate, delay, for another decade, and one political party prays the other party bare the weight of the painful conversation to come... politics and more politics getting in the way of governance being able to act in time or with clear intention. I do love my history, so I'd like to say on "risk", A general who takes no risks, is a general with no plans, for there is risk in every plan. (and that's a quote from me) Imo risk also determines your desire to make good of something. If your willing to risk it, your also willing to make it work.

India is by and large an inclusive Society. For centuries, the People of all creeds and affiliations lived in India with relative harmony. At present all singns are that the present PM is moving towards DICTATORIAL LEADERSHIP. It appears that Indian people at large are fed up with Modi and he would be thrown aside for his arrogance and opposition to DEMOCRATIC WAY of functioning and India would once again flourish without Modi 💐👌

The Katanga situation is exactly like the Biafran secession from Nigeria. I think the colonial powers are aware that they would loose their influences once a domino of secession and breakups spreads all over Africa and this means loosing free resources that drive their cooperations and multinational companies.

I get some idiotic comments. But this is rather special even by those standards. You can call ten EU many things, but worthless it certainly isn’t. That’s why so many other countries want to join. The U.K. economy has taken a massive dive. Brits have lost many advantages to live, travel and retire around Europe. And British influence around the world has declined. If you want to delude yourself that Britain has somehow won something, that’s up to you. But at least make a realistic argument.

This is the main reason of the war You mentioned that Hamas is an Iranian backed group, in fact that Hamas is not in a proxy war with Israel for Iran's favour. Hamas also has strong relations with a strong NATO member, which is Turkey and a vital US ally which is Qatar. You add fog on the conflict when you mention Iran in the subject whereas Gaza (a Palestinian territory) is under a complete siege by Israel. This itself is agains international law. Also the horrible human rights violations carried out by Israeli settlers and Israeli army against the indigenous Palestinians in Jerusalem, Al Aqsa Mosque and the West Bank cannot be forgotten, because they live under illegal occupation. This entire conflict was originally started by Britain with its colonial greed in the Middle East.

James, the opposition parties in India don't agree on anything except for the need to put a united fight against Modi so that they can survive. Why should we as Indians mortage our future at the hands of such people? You people in the west need to quit pushing this "perception" of dictatorship you have on us. We have had elections everywhe and there are plenty of states in India where Modi's party is not in power and the leaders of those states rant agiast Modi 24x7. Doesn't sound like much of a recipe for dictatorship to me.
