Doctor Anne

As doctor passionate about skin care that delivers results and well aging I want to help you quickly and efficiently pick a skin care regime that works, by explaining the science behind skin and by sharing quick product reviews.
I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH / PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached a happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

    About five years ago, I went on a vacation and my body was covered with hives after going to the beach . Now whenever I’m exposed to the sun, whatever part of my body is exposed I start developing hives. Within about 30 minutes. I don’t know what triggered it. I was in my mid-40s but nothing else has changed. I’ve always worn high SPF sunblock. Now I take an allergy pill when I know I’m going to be out in the sun and that seems to help reduce it some, I still use SPF and sunshirts and preventative clothing to cover up. I take a vitamin D supplement along with general supplements for health. I am brown skinned so I and I never had this happen when I was younger. I just started talking Astaxanthin as a supplement and I’m hoping it will help. Have you heard of this supplement? I’m trying anything.

    Hello, I would like to ask, if I go for example for a run in the evening, I remove my makeup with double cleansing, put on spf since working out outside and then double cleansing afterwards again? I still haven’t really found an answer to this question, and cleansing my face twice seems a little to harsh and unnecessary, so what should I do?

  • @DoctorAnne
    @DoctorAnne4 күн бұрын

    I would personally either remove my makeup with a quick cleanse or just leave it on, then go for a run and then cleanse thoroughly afterwards. It isn't the makeup per se, it is the makeup sitting on the skin paired with sweat and dirt for a prolonged period of time, so unless you are trainig for a marathon, removing the makeup and everything else afterwards shouldn't cause an issue. Everyones skin is different though, so that is just what I would do.

    @@DoctorAnne I have sensitive and fragile skin I guess, I can’t tolerate vitamin c or niacinamide percentage above 2%, and my skin cannot use skincare with slicone(hence I am not able to use any sunscreen because over 98% of them comes with silicone). I have actually started with cosrx 6 peptides serum(with peptides in low concentration), as a preparation and test before going for high concentration peptides skincare. So far, my skin does not react against the peptides. Fyi, previously I have actually tried the Goodal green tangerine vita c serum and get a shock of my life when my face(near my mouth, about 1cm in diameter) suddenly shrinking and sagging the day after applying the serum.
