  Thanks for Eulogy! Love this track because it shows off how much Tool can do. The captivating build always puts me in the zone. It comes from silence to faint to full sound. Like they are creating something from nothing. When it drops into the riff it’s still not fully formed. The lyrics pairs very well too. Danny Carey is at the op of his game on the drums. Plus an Angry Maynard at the end. Brilliant! +1 Vicarious

  They started many of their concerts with this song, or the Immigrant Song, to get the fans hyped up. They loved performing live, but also hated being away from their families for so long. They really loved their fans, & always put everything into their concerts. This song was written & recorded in about 20 minutes, when drummer John Bonham took a break from recording Four Sticks. He was having trouble with Four Sticks, because he was playing with 2 sticks in each hand.

  "Telegraph Road" also on Alchemy; "Tunnel of Love" also on Alchemy; "Water of Love" from their debut album, Dire Straits; "Brothers in Arms" from their album Brothers in Arms; "Money for Nothing" from the same Brothers in Arms album; "Wild Theme", "Smoochin"" from Mark's soundtrack to Local Hero, and "Going Home" from the same album; Dire Straits had 6 albums, Mark wrote and played the soundtrack on 5 movies; Mark also has a 40year solo career as well.   This video was from 1993 at the Reading Music Festival, if I remember correctly. They had already released the "Opiate" EP 1992 (an EP is a shorter / fewer tracks album) &, this performance, was after the release of "Undertow" LP 1993 (a full length album).

  This is not a Mariah Carey song. It was written by British band Badfinger and, originally, made famous by Harry Nillson many decades ago. Harry's version is the definitive version. You should check it out!!
