Emma has been working hard in recent weeks, and I think that I need to make you aware of some of the special concerts she's performed at in The Netherlands in recent time, each year, there are a series of concerts held across the country to remember the over 8000 Americans, and others, who gave their lives to liberate The Netherlands from German occupation during WWII. Emma sang a number of different songs at different venues, and for me, the outstanding performance of the series was in the Hague, where she sang an updated version of her Demi Levato cover of 'Father', and this time, she went for and absolutely nailed a new top note, the highlight of a stunning performance, and a significant update and change to the version she sang for a similar event in September of 2023. The video of this event is at kzread.info/dash/bejne/rIyLpMxwXcjKh7g.html Another song from that same concert, 'Hero', kzread.info/dash/bejne/pKOcspKPY6ipgrw.html Another song from that time, 'You raise me up', kzread.info/dash/bejne/gH2MpJmNksizpto.html The last song from Amsterdam, performed in front of the Dutch Royal Family, and a number of the high ranking politicians of the country, a duet with April Darby, 'When you believe', kzread.info/dash/bejne/i3tsubhqd6naj8Y.html One of the Dutch TV channels did an interview with Emma at that time, and it's also on KZread, in Dutch, but it's possible to get English (or other languages) subtitles to it, and it so clearly shows the incredible personality Emma has, kzread.info/dash/bejne/iWGllM6jXcfdhZM.html Another interview with Emma is at kzread.info/dash/bejne/iaVttJSQY67XpNo.html and it's worth watching to discover a bit more about this amazing young woman, and the incredible fight she's had to achieve her dream, despite the huge challenge of gastroparesis, a paralysed stomach, which has resulted in her having to be on feeding tubes and external pumps ( a bit like carrying a boat anchor around with you) for 22 Hours a day, and that's been her experience since she was 9 months old. In addition to those issues, her growth has been delayed, even now at 16, she's only 1 Mtr 50, and weighs only 50 Kg, and gastorparesis has affected her stamina, she struggles with more than 2 flights of stairs, or even walking long distances, simply because she doesn't have the reserves of energy that would normally be the case for a 16 year old. but despite that, she is a determined fighter and warrior, and as a result, she is very much achieving her goal of being a singer, and the results of her doing that are clear, Voila, her first appearance with Andre RIeu has been on KZread since last summer, and is very close to achieving 60 MILLION views, and it's still getting huge numbers of views or streams on other social media sites, helped in no small part by her regular appearances around the world with Andre Rieu and the orchestra as part of his 2024 world tour series, 75 concerts in many countries, and every night, she gets a standing ovation from the huge numbers of people who are seeing her live performance, which has also changed and improved over what we all thought at the time was perfection, Emma thought differently, and has made a lot of small subtle changes that have made the version she is singing now even better than the original release. In only a few weeks, this years series of 12 concerts in Maastricht will be happening, and I for one am hoping that Andre will allow her to spread her wings a little, and soar even higher with at least one new song, Voila is her defining song, and her many fans of all ages around the world will never allow her to forget it, but now, she's more than capable and able to deliver more, and hopefully, now she's free of the laws that restricted her performing time on stage as a minor, she can show what she's truly capable of, the recent songs for the commemoration concerts have shown that she is more than able to deliver stunning performances of almost any genre. Those who know me know how I end my posts, and I make no apologies for doing so, Emma deserves all the support she can be given, as her foundation works to help find better treatments, or even possibly a cure for this awful disease. Emma's foundation is almost unique in terms of the work they are doing, there's been very little research into a devastating illness, the effects on the sufferers are huge. Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, and requires her to be tied to the pumps and feeding tubes since she was 9 MONTHS old, for 22 hours a day, hopefully, the work of her foundation will find a cure. One of their main people is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in dealing with gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day. It will be so good if the work of Emma's foundation can lead to a better treatment, or even a cure, which will free her to do more singing, and it may be people here who make that possible.
