Please, let us know how the lemon eucalyptus spray compares to Deet?

I know this comment is well after the fact, but just in case anyone reads this in the future. You should not be wearing microspikes on anything close to the slope of Forester Pass (or Mt Whitney for that matter, or pretty much any pass). They are barely attached to your shoes and will only result in confidence until your shoe slides right out of the rubber bands holding them on. There's a reason that the manufacturer says don't use them on slopes greater than 10%. Traveling on ice like is shown on Forester Pass should be done with crampons (preferably attached to rigid soled boots) and an ice axe with the knowledge of how to use them. ANything else just adds confidence without adding any safety, a horrible combination.

Keep on hiking, really enjoying your videos. Keep the positive attitude. Hope you are not disapointed in South lake Tahoe. Unfortunate it has turned into a big city in one of most beautiful alpine lakes in the country. Looking forward to the rest of your journey

We do a fair amount of hiking around Carson Pass. I think "Duck Lake" is actually "Frog Lake". Keep up the positive vibe, you're setting a good example for all hikers.

Such beauty @and majesty!! 30 plus years ago, before bear boxes, we loved driving to the bottom of kings canyon and camping and hiking. We hiked near a river and had a couple of very close unafraid bear encounters.

Sierras end at Beldon and Cascades begin. You have passed through the High Sierras. Tahoe is in the western Sierras. Just to clarify! You gotta check out the hilltop chair on Tinker's Knob, north of Palisade, south of Donner Pass summit.
