    Looks good, maybe anchor the middle of the end awnings to the hinge area so you don’t have to try and tuck it in while closing? Also creating a couple bungee points on the sides you can hook up before closing to bring the sides in so the lid doesn’t pinch it. Just a thought, looks good!

    Thanks for the awesome review! I recently sold an iKamper Skycamp that served us well for 5 years and have the RV4 inbound. Looking forward to the new Oztent!

    That hub puller looks to be very helpful. You think I can just replace the dust seal only, where the outer cv axle mates with the knuckle? Thank you

    I need help please. I did it step by step and everything was almost perfect. Now I have the 4WD light flashing on the panel. This situation has me worried because I don't touch, much less disconnect, anything. I disconnected the battery for 20 minutes and there were no changes. Any ideas or suggestions?

    I know this is 3 years later but what welder type are you using here and on the overland roof top tent build also. I don’t know what welder I should get to start my builds for overlanding

    What overall weight do you think this thing will be fully loaded?is the suspension gonna have to be modified?i didnt watch the very 1st video,so i dont know if you coverd that,my apologies,i kinda like more of the hands on video stuff vs the talking.the build is looking pretty good.i keep trying to think of folding panels instead of fabric

  • @Adv4x4
    @Adv4x413 күн бұрын

    I think it will be around 300lbs when done! My suspension is already setup to handle the weight! Folding panels was considered but in the end it just adds more weight and is far more complex to design which I don’t feel comfortable tackling. I’d rather do fabric and have lots of windows!

    Thanks for the videos. If I understand correctly, you floor is a sheet of 3mm ACM attached to the frame, then a half inch of foam insulation, and then vinyl flooring on top. Is that right, and are you still happy with that?

    Great job although I would have just used an L bracket into the channels below the top to attach the top from underneath so the screws are hidden and no holes drilled into that beautiful top

    I wonder if velcroing the fabric to the support would eliminate the need to have any type of outside bungee cord.... It would just fold in with the support. Just a thought.

    This is the best DIY KZreadr video that I've ever seen, and I've see a LOT. This guy knows what he's doing, and knows how to set the cam for explanation. Brilliant instruction, and I'm a 61 year old teacher, so I know instruction. I replaced two u-joints and carrier bearing yesterday. Now, no vibration at all. Thank you adv.4x4 for saving me $$$. Keep them coming, since I have a 2012 Taco with 215000 miles, where thing start to go bad. Cheers!

    The Toyota spec says the nut on the carrier bearing yoke needs to be replaced with every change … anyone know why? And if that’s even remotely reasonable?

  • @Yaygens
    @Yaygens19 күн бұрын

    Probably because you are staking the nut again and you are not going to have the same integrity in the material

    I farted around with the roof lift system and struts for weeks to get it dialed. Not all at once, over time. Finally got it working as needed, roofnopens and closes and is centered. Now I just need to upgrade the gas struts. I knew I should have gone for surface mount thin solar panels... those 2 x 100 watt panels with all the wood my roof is made from is a bit more than I calculated. Lol
