thank you for this, have owned my tacoma for 3 years, its a 13. and never knew to change them every 30k miles i have about 70k on it now. was wondering if you change coil packs as well.

the 4.0 has a 120,000 mile change interval for spark plugs. You are the second video I watched in a row where they suggest 30K.

Copper tip plug interval is 30K. Iridium is 100k-120k These are Copper. This is meant to be an informative video on how to change spark plugs in their 1GR-FE. It is exactly that. Hope that helps!

@@Adv4x4 It would be advisable to point that out to your viewers, as most will buy the recommended Iridium plugs. Hope that helps!

Toyota recommends copper in the manual. The engines run better on copper.

@@colecookson2541 They are all copper. The difference is in the coating on the tip which affects longevity. Interestingly, they call for the longer lasting iridium coated tips for the 4 runner with the exact same engine. And the iridium plugs are called for in the 2.7L 4 banger Tacoma. The engine will run the same on all of them. The 4 runner thing through me off. I do apologize. The 30,000 mile plugs have a nickel coating on the tips. There are no uncoated "copper tipped' spark plugs as they wouldn't even last 30K miles

I have 408,000 on my original plugs and still runs fine thinking about changing them just worried about them being a sob getting them out

Passenger’s side is a breeze. Driver’s side is a pain but worth doing yourself to save hundreds at the stealership.
