  Hello, uncle. I'm Shiyan from Bandarawela. Traveling by Udarata Menike (both the old train with Class M6 and the blue train Class S12) from Bandarawela to Colombo Fort was something I enjoyed the most in my life. I always love traveling by Udarata Menike to Colombo Fort, especially on days when the morning is beautiful with sunlight. When we see the beautiful morning while traveling by train to Colombo Fort, our heart will be filled with exceeding joy. I'm sure there is no one who hates traveling by train in the hill country. One of my greatest desires is to have at least one friend who is an engine driver in the mainline railway. So I have chosen Cyril uncle (Mr. Cyril Sugathapala), a well-experienced train driver who has retired from his service recently. He lives in Badulla and he is a kindhearted and gentle person. I really love to meet him. I just want to share my wonderful memories I had on the train, talk about his career as a train driver and his wonderful memories, and spend a wonderful time with him. I remember I saw a train driver at Bandarawela Railway Station like Cyril uncle standing in the Class M6 locomotive (red and orange) when I was a teenager. He had a circle beard. I think it was him. He asked me "Come, let's go" and I said "I''m afraid to travel on the engine, uncle." As the train was departing from the station, he waved a hand at me and I also waved a hand at him. He was such a nice person. It was the only opportunity I got to speak to a train driver. I also love to travel to travel by the Class S14 and Class M6 locomotive with a friendly train driver. Sadly, I won't be able to travel on the engine with Cyril uncle because he is retired now. Menaka aiya and Rohan aiya, two Sri Lankan actors, travelled with Cyril from a certain place to Badulla on the Class S14 train (not sure whether it was Udarata Menika or Podi Menike). I'm trying to reach Cyril uncle. I'm unable find his contact number. I'm afraid to speak to the Station Master of the Badulla Railway Station. Can you please help me contact Cyril uncle? I will be exceedingly joyful when I get the opportunity to talk with him. Please tell Mangala uncle about me and I think he also can help me.

  Thank you so much for the comment. Yes we took the train from Jaffna and this was last October. Now the service from Japan to anuradhapura is temporarily suspended.
