They all sound the same. A 6L6 amp is gonna sound like any other 6L6 amp.
The Mesa has absolutely no cut or definition. Thats why they always push it with a tube screamer to bring out some of the mids and high mids.
Krakken killing it here, engl sounds very grainy and nasal
You want a good Marshall? Buy a Freidman.
screw that breaking down crap. This is exactly why I use Solid state with a just a light boost ... way more relaible & user freindly imo
For me the Mesa is the clear winner followed by the Engl Fireball. All of them sounded good in their own way though.
So pretty much anything from Early Early motley crue to Fear Factory
Looking Forward to getting these ...what Input gain was used on your TONEX pedal when creating and playing back ? ...Cheers
Great Tones mate I got the SC800 as well love it and this capture is identical :) ....what Input Gain are you running ? ......
my thumb hurts everytime I see you playing with that weird pick reverse position.. ^__^
Cool:)
Definitely gonna have to be getting this one, too!
There is no way. I was waiting for a modded marshall plugin for ages
I was expecting one of the "can't tell a difference" type reviews, but was surprised how clearly I preferred the Soldano here. It simply sounded richer and fuller in the demo tracks. Honestly bit surprised how many comments say they prefer the other amp.
Bought a used 205 from eBay a few years back for €400, had it serviced and some mods done to it (OD2 to OD1, lowered compression, had it made a bit tighter, had a choke installed, a new master-volume for more even volume-increase, and added some robust KT77-tubes) for another €300. So 700 bucks in all for one of the best amps I've ever played.
Russian quality software. Use them forr years now.
What a crunch track in the middle! Super tasty playing!
The main difference I hear is the Fireball has faster attack and the Victory has a bit of lag that makes it sound heavier/grungier. Fireball wins for playing Metallica riffs with the homies. I would go with the Victory for playing my own stuff mainly because the clean tones seem more versatile.
Sounds really good. I have also heard that their Euphoria Bogner Ecstasy model is tremendric. As Arnold would say. Hopefully you can check that out too.
A - Real Amp B - Real Amp C - Real Amp D - Real Amp
damn that kraken sounds good. just got the fireball 25.
The Fireball is no slouch!
What really shines is your outstanding ability to dial things in such a balanced and clear way, consistently, across so many pieces of gear and time. It's a real testament to your ability and ear.
Sounds really good. Only problem is that I just spent almost $500 on amp sims and IRs in the past week. It’s a rather addictive type thing. You buy a particular amp sim and it sounds great, but then another one comes out from a respected company like the one you demo here and you think to yourself, I wonder if I would like this one just a tiny bit better than the one I bought last night. 🤔 Hmmmmm.
And then you buy an Axe-FX III Mk II, and a Quad-Cortex and so on… 🤘🎩
Lol are you me
Ive had the Fireball 25 for a few years and just picked up the Kraken VX, is channel 1 on the VX similar to the new Kraken Ch 1 ? I love the Kraken and pair it with my Friedman Twin Sister. Thanks Jon! 💕✌️
Even used Fractal devices are still quite hefty. Chances are you are not going to find a working FX2 under 900 Euro. and what i've heard is, that that's as old as you wanna go. Good to know, that the Line 6 Helix Stomp is good, because those go around under 400 Bucks. The limitation 8 DSP is there, but how many DSP do you really need at once?
Amazing sounds!
Yeah, I thought this plug-in sounded absolutely outstanding as did your playing. Great job!!
Mercuriall never disappoints.
Sounds great! Mercuriall know how to do a proper sim that's for sure.
Ahha!!! I love the 70’s effects at the beginning of the song.
Oh there’s more visual fx. Super cool!
Great channel, man
I have a Headfirst Cali 50 (that is a Plexi Jose modded with some extra clipping and bright cap options) and I swear it's the best amp I've ever heard
Absolutely disgusting track! This plugin sounds amazing!
Those IRs sound phenomenal!!
The Atomica amp in the axe FX 3 is a Jose amp and is what the meshuggah Fortin amp is based on, also all the Friedman's are Jose based
Sounds really good! Your intro was great!
Another great clip
If you could choose only one amp sim plugin to record with, what would it be? I love all of your breakdowns but, it’s so hard to choose because you make them all sound incredible hah
I’d like to know this as well?
Nameless X. That's all you need. Comprehensive feature and fx set included without being over complicated or too many choices. If you want chewy high gain, turn the input on the plugin up, as long as it's not clipping your totally fine.
Was waiting forever for Spark - but this looks even better.
🔥
Mercuriall plugins always feel great to play! I also like Vadim Taranov's take on the Silver Jubilee which is free. :)
Right, Vadims stuff is awesome. Like his Raven Volcanic sim a lot. And which one is the Jubilee?
He released a Jubilee at some point?! How did I missed that? Can you share the name of the plugin? 🤘🎩
What do you think of this plugin?
Sounds pretty good. Will try it out these days.
damn, i've been really waiting for them to release their take on plexi, and jeez, this indeed might be the best sounding plexi model out there. based on my experience with tons of different plugins, mercuriall definitely has the best emulation algorithms. great demo as always, Jon!
sounds spot. but I am one of the big solid state hopefuls, and I haven't been too disappointed with the progress there. so I will wait for the DSM Humbolt, Hughes & Kettner, or Tech 21, Jose Mod............it's costs more, but you end up with a real piece of hardware, with no latency.
It is very close to the real thing, and really fun to play around with it! It is really great for AFD tones too!🤘🎩
@@SomeDudeDan I run soft synths .. and I hate to commit any synths to audio until the mix is done. so incorporating guitar work has to be hardware, or UAD on my USB Apollo Twin...I have the B-15N and the GAV-19T , Both are excellent for guitar....I just got the GK 800RB for bass, and the Harrison 32C for whatever.
Excellent review!
My favorite, the Engl, followed by the H&K
marshall and peavey super.... other mid more.
I change the pickups in every guitar I buy. I do think I've ever been a fan of stock pickups in any I've owned because of the handwound options available out there.
For me, the amperium live by is the best by far. I have one and i Am giging with it, sounds icredible on PA.
Sick grooves
The slo is great, but that orange on my tone master pro really blew me away. Then, i had to rush and see if you made a video on it. Sure enough, you were on top of it! Always great to see your takes on amps/modeling/irs and happy to see you thought it was pretty amazing too.
didn't really deliver for me with the Mesa but sounds absolutely beautiful with the Rocker 50.
