My mom loved this game, she used to play when I was about 5. After 20 years she requested me to find the "rat game", couse she wanted to play again. I've been searching for 5 years. Do you know where can I download it?
Hat's off to the chat for being hopeless at following any rules Wow. What a ride. As a viewer I can't fault the story at all; enough new ideas to complement the well-known original storyline. So much to credit, so much to love, but to pick 1 thing, the score is absolutely insane. God knows what the budget was, but man, they absolutely smashed it. Not a duff track and the sound ques were ridiculously good. The benchmark is so high now, if they even match this level it'll be quiet something. Now, I need to get back to finishing FF12 on my PS2!
My guess is that they really wanted this dungeon to be a part of the main game, maybe even what u said of like putting some of this puzzles behind every royal tomb. But maybe they didn't have the time to implement it properly so just merged it all together and put it in this post game dungeon Ps.: alright I just got to the part were you said exactly what I just said so nvm 😅

You mentioned you don’t know why there had to be a whole scene with Bart apologizing… it has to do with his character arc. Earlier in the game he was asked if he apologized the first time he shot down Fei and citan. He was oblivious or stubborn and shrugged off. So this scene is showing that he has developed a tad. Also Bart deals with things by going head on or with humor or shrugging things off. His scenes naturally have more humor in them.
After seeing more, I do also agree that it would have been more impactful if we found out Bart was alive when Fei does here. I like can manufacture a reason to control Bart to still get that character development after the reveal Also it might be hard to tell in the translation but Bart basically scoffed at Elly being taken, as if she’s willing and not on their side. When Fei asks Bart what do you mean with !! it’s more like him standing up for her is how I take it. I think at this point it’s establish that Faith and Elly have something. Bart has said as much earlier when he said he saw the drive drug and Fei was worried about her
growing up i was just like fei. Always helping people trying to feel wanted, or needed, and no matter what I did, I never felt like I had a place that I belonged. My mother cheated on her husband with my dad and I was a product of that. No one in my family wanted me. I always felt alone, and like no where was my real home. I didnt feel like I belonged anywhere. So I always helped people trying to feel like I belong somewhere. All that did though, was attract people to use and abuse me, and it got me no where. This game really made me understand myself, and that, I do not need others to belong. It taught me I need to be strong, yet caring and compassionate. Right before I started this game, I was so depressed, and alone. Then I found this game, and was addicted. I have never in my life ever feel more connected to a character than I do fei. I also get whats called red rage, and when I would get attacked or jumped in school I would red rage and put people in the hospital, and I would never know what I did, as red rage basically blacks out your mind like a black out does, but your body defends it's self. I would always wake up from red rages covered in other peoples blood , and people staring at me horrified, and I had NO IDEA what happened.
I relate to damn near 100% of this. Alone. Unwanted. Thrown away. Figure things out without parents in life. But I’ve never red raged. I called what I experienced as seeing white. My vision would quickly fade white. When you get jumped or involved in traumatic sudden violence time always slows down but in situations that were emotionally tied I would see white and “come to” moments later. I think I’ve always been a seeker and this game in my life at 17 years old was like an affirmation and helped shape who I am. My son is now 17 and he is getting ready to play his first full play through
Also yeah the really awkward dialogue at 51:35 is poor translation. Basically since they joined back together Bartz distrust Elly because she was with Gebler so he's implying she went back with them. Obviously that piss off Fei so that's why Citan tells him to calm down. Translator was clearly noding off when he was doing that part lol.
You're slower underwater, look at your "agility level". But yeah this game isn't great at communicating that stuff.
rewatching this old mod after Rebirth, I love the hell house hype before he knew it was a boss in remake :)

Another interesting thing about the Grafh fight is that he won't target Elly at all. If she happens to be the last one standing, the battle ends the same way. Elly points it out too later. 17:30 This is line written badly and translated worse: "Knigret" was supposed to be "neglect". In the Japanese vesrion the english word "neglect" was written in katakana and it's possible the translator wasn't sure what to do with it. (Source is episode 10 of the Resonant Arc podcast on Xenogears at 1:22:25)

I am a very novice programmer. My code is horrible. But my jaw dropped when I saw how they coded this. That is insanity. What materia were they smoking?
You really need to spend more time learning combos, gaining levels, and earning gold. You would have a much more enjoyable experience than you already are. I feel, this is a criticism(sorry), if you spent all the time wasted talking to the camera and used that leveling up the 24 hours spent in this game you would be in a much stronger position. You could even talk while you level up. I love that you are playing this game, but...your monologues.
Firstly, I enjoy running through games underleveled, it is just how I enjoy them. I like to be challenged and then decide if I can beat something the way I am or if I need to grind. Secondly, if you don't like me stopping the game to engage with my community and talk about my feelings and thoughts, then don't watch my Let's Plays, I do it a lot and I have no intentions of stopping.
The cryptic parts of the plot will make more sense later, but for now, just file it away for the moment.
fun fact, the Goliath is the same design as the blackbird in chrono Trigger, I think it was ment to actually be the blackbird back when they started the game as a chrono trigger sequel before they decided to make it a new IP. I still consider Xenogears world the same as Chrono Trigger, and that Deus is Lavos.

Why nobody uses magic in Xenogears? Elly equipped with ether doubler is the second strongest character in the game (the first strongest is Emeralda equipped with ether doubler).
My last play through I grabbed an etherdoubler from Nissan before this section. Took a massive amount of grinding on sandmen and tin-robos but I did it, and used Elly every chance I got. A.E.R.O.D.S just become incredible, not to mention basic spells. Then you start getting gear eq that increase Vierge’s ether amplifier….mmmmm
This quiz is so cursed in the very best way possible. 🤣
