This is a 10/10 for me, GOTY. I could give the game a 9 because I have some genuine gripes with the open world activities like the springs and towers, and some of the added/changed story elements. But I would feel silly because I like 😮most of the changes and the game just oozes love and quality, and I have spent 180 hours on it and am still not done with my Platinum, halfway through hard mode and I still have Chadley's arena to finish. The critical detail here is that I have enjoyed myself 90-95% of the time and I'm not doing this just because of completionist urges, I'm genuinely still having fun. It helps that all the boring parts I mentioned were all done long before then. Not even Elden Ring kept me entertained for this long. I had to digest the ending for a few days but now I love it and can't wait for part 3.

That’s subjective imo, elemental fire to your armour slot trivialises this fight lol . Lightwork, it’s chadleys brutal vr missions that are the real challenge 💪🏾💯👀

The double summons fights are more annoying than hard. Also, I don’t want to be stuck in 1 battle for a long time.

47:50 so it seems Phoenix can't use Rebirth Flame in a ward?? Or because it's in the ward it tries to do it twice but the 2nd one overrides the 1st before the casting timer ends and it starts over again?? That's a pretty wild oversight if that's the case. I might try casting a ward under it as soon as it starts to see what happens. Maybe the ward has to already be present in a certain spot, since it seems Phoenix flies to a central spot to cast Rebirth Flame. It looked like it tried to correct it's position a few times before just giving up. Does this work on other long-casting spells? Does the enemy have to be airborne? This is purely a think-out-loud comment, just seems to be worth digging into that rabbit hole as much as possible.

I wish. I have not seen one good guide on KZread for hellions intonement they are all just broken builds that aren't fun and don't get the job done that's a major problem by the way the clickbait content almost wish I never got the PlayStation 5 and the game until death put out his guides because he is a genuine person who is actually good at the game and pretty much everyone else is just going for the big monetization and clickbait by showing off simple cheese builds I mean you should see some of the thumbnails they don't even provide a good explanation and you can't find anything in the video

I’ma give the game a solid 7 out of 10, i’m a sit on the ending for a little bit, but I’m leaning towards not really liking it, wishing they just kept to the original. It didn’t feel very structured. Felt kind of all over the place. I enjoyed it though. If they make Cloud talk to ghost Aerith throughout the entire third game, square we gonna need to talk. Tifa is right there. I’m just saying. Zack’s roll in this game felt like it was nothing but a marketing tool. Constantly killing him off in different worlds. I think it’s just hurting the character, not helping him. Square doesn’t know how to keep characters dead. Coming back alive and some other capacity. I’m just saying, respect the concept and reality of death. Is that so much to ask. Another thing, this story just doesn’t need a Multiverse plot. Felt like square just watched Marvel and was like, we can enforce that in one of our games somehow. It feels like I’m bashing the game, but it was actually really good. The gameplay the atmosphere of the game feels good. I really like the card game. A lot of the side stories weren’t really interesting, but they’re there. Much like 16. And it just felt really weird having the characters in the back round of the plots that we’re going on. In the next game, I suggest they make it more interactive. Have all the characters react to the situations in the side events instead of leaving them in the background. The whispers are around and I still don’t like them. They’re not as annoying here as they are in remake, but they still feel out of place and unnecessary. I just want them gone. But I know they can’t just throw them away at this point. They’ll be in the third game most definitely. Sephiroth’s plan is mixed bad. He’s literally planning for his own demise basically. Underestimating Aerith, because she supposed to be dead. Even though he failed Zack was even putting up a fight. So how is his plan helping him bringing worlds together? What did he watch the original and want to try something new. Chadley was also one of the most annoying companions i’ve dealt with in these type of games. Not to say that the games themselves are bad. Most of them were all pretty good but Chadley and his female companion popping in and out of every time you do something within the world got tire some even though it was new dialogue moments I still wanted them off the screen as fast as possible. But because of how possibly important he could be in the story i’m interested in that. Just limit him. In terms of world explanation.

Feeling you with: Character death means nothing if you have a line back to the character. No "Multiverse" please, you money-grubbing hacks!

100% about the death. There was absolutely no focus in the end cutscenes, and it felt like a disconnected mess. I've watched all the VODs up to this point 80% of this game feels like filler content. None of the open world looks like it has challenging enemies unless they're a variant or boss fight. I'd also have the same complaint about this as ff7 remake. The summons feel like they have just been shoehorned into the game and don't actually feel relevant. They're not part of the story in any way, you can't summon them when you want and you can only have one equipped.

@@edplat2367 in fairness the Summons were also "just there" in original. Heck there isn't even any special dialog when you get Chocobo, your very first Summon.

@MrCantStopTheRobot I agree to some extent. However, I'd say that at least they weren't just in a simulator. Then there is the dumb memory matrix thing. There was a couple you actually needed to do something. Leviathan, you needed to defeat the pagoda, and the scales are used to put out the fires in wutai and access other treasures. Phoenix was tied to Fort Condor. Knights of round you needed the gold chocobo, etc. You actually had to hunt for them too, which is again something taken away. This being said, I'm not really comparing to the original, I'm more complaining of this games implementation of summons. Additionally, there are games where the summons are tightly integrated into the story. 8, 9, and 10 were all examples of this.

@@edplat2367 I thought about how the game felt fillery. Although in the end it's a pure-and-simple creative shortfall, I bet the problem arose in the first place because of: fast-travel, and the option to avoid most fights. Old-school JRPG's are almost entirely filler by default, anyway. Same battle combinations that are mathematically determined to always end the same way... yet you still have to menu-select through them dozens of times.
