waiting for the weekend

waiting for the weekend

Hi and welcome to my channel I love making carp fishing videos using GoPro type cameras. Anybody who has tried this will know how hard it can be trying to do everything yourself and trying to get footage of runs and fish playing action. Hopefully I can bring some new ideas and get some unique footage to keep you all entertained

    Join me back on the mighty Pit 6 on the A1 pits complex for a very wet autumn carp fishing session at the end of October 2022. Follow me through a session where I cover rigs and baiting patterns to outwit some beautiful carp. Building the swim up slowly with bait and being patient but confident paid off big time, saving the best capture till last.

    Morning Jason your videos are great I particularly like the A1 pits vids as I used to fish them years ago , now I'm not a carp angler but prefer to fish for the huge bream that I know used to inhabit pit four ,my question is ,are they still there and is lake four worth fishing for them cheers Jason 👍 oh I've just bought a sonic recon 8 footer on the strength of having a short set up rod handy in the car ,a brilliant rod and I can't believe how light and slim it is brilliant 😁

  • @waitingfortheweekend2441
    @waitingfortheweekend2441 Жыл бұрын

    Thank you John appreciate that mate. Takes a lot to do the filming the way I do so it’s nice to hear your kind words. Pit 4 always suffers the most when the complex floods as there is a culvert behind it underneath the railway line which seems to flush out a lot of fish, carp included. I have used maggots quite extensively on the pits in recent years and have caught very few bream. I used to fish the pits in the late nineties and early 2000’s and can remember when they drained pit 6 and removed most of the bream and put them into 4. I think most of them fish have probably passed now. The rod is very good for close in work seems a little stiff for a start but you can bend right into it when you get a good double /twenty hooked up. Enjoy your fishing mate👍

    Nice video,but if you’re considering weight saving by using 8ft rods why are you using massive bucket spool reels .

  • @waitingfortheweekend2441
    @waitingfortheweekend2441 Жыл бұрын

    I’m not bothered about the weight so much it’s the pack down side of the rods. The 8 ft recons are tiny. The reels are what I had and the Diawa 5000t is not a big heavy reel for a “big pit reel” it’s quite compact. The other reason is I use a 20lb reel line and don’t like the way it comes off a baitrunner size reel. That’s not on the cast but just dropping in the margins and laying down some slack it coils badly

  • @streetcat1510
    @streetcat1510 Жыл бұрын

    Wow mate would be crying if that happened to me it’s 20 ft deep a rod length out not sure I would get anything back if they took the lot. Just got back from this years adventure 04;30 in the morning a 100lb catfish pulled me in off a 5 ft high bank head first. Thought it was a bream as it didn’t know it was hooked and swam right at me. Didn’t slacken off the clutch and half way in it realised what was happening and took off pulling me clean in 😳

    @@warrenhilton6553 depends what kind of fishing you are looking for. From saint Savinien to the sea it is tidal. The river is not very accessible from there to Saintes mainly farmers fields completely tree lined along the rivers edge. There is a section of night fishing just on the outskirts of saint Savinien where you have off road parking and the banks are quite low. It is on the opposite bank to where all the camper vans park it is quite wide but not too deep loads of carp but a lot of small ones. Let me know a bit more about how serious you want to carp fish and what your looking to get out of it days only or a session night fishing and do you have a dingy and I can point you in the right direction. If you head into Saintes there is another night fishing section that has a limestone road running alongside it for about a mile you will probably need Google earth to find it though. • @waitingfortheweekend2441

    Hi mate it will depend on your casting ability the only real bank is the 5-6 split bank but it is around 140 yards to the first bar and 165 to the second, there are 4 in total. You can access the end of the first two bars from the railway bank from peg 2 and 3. The best peg when the water is a little lower in august onwards is the one they call the bin swim as you can wade about 20 yards out onto a shallow area in front of the swim which brings the first bar to between 28-30 wraps out. This is the middle of the split bank
