    Excellent video thank you , first fifteen minutes on the Lot pod and three rods disappeared into the depths after an hour of panic stricken thrashing about managed to get all my gear back , the moral is nail them to the bank I use bungee's and loooong pegs , France is amazing

    Wow mate would be crying if that happened to me it’s 20 ft deep a rod length out not sure I would get anything back if they took the lot. Just got back from this years adventure 04;30 in the morning a 100lb catfish pulled me in off a 5 ft high bank head first. Thought it was a bream as it didn’t know it was hooked and swam right at me. Didn’t slacken off the clutch and half way in it realised what was happening and took off pulling me clean in 😳

    Loving the videos mate heading to the charente for 1 week tomorrow, what's access like to the night fishing spots? Can you drive the van down to the waters edge or is car park and barrow job?! Keep up the videos mate. Thanks

    Thank you Lee very kind words. It’s hard work trying to make fishing videos interesting you are trying to work with one location and filming on your own is time consuming. I never get tired of fishing the French rivers so much to explore and every capture is special in its own way . Hard work but rewarding. Thanks for the support

    No problem Gavin. There are plenty of people willing to jump on Facebook posts about how there mates are now smugglers and banded from America, I doubt they’ve ever been just like the attention. if you have any past experience of going to France you will no how keen the customs are or not !

    @@waitingfortheweekend2441 enjoyed your film as I always do. Regarding inflatables which size do you use and is it large enough to move the necessary gear for an overnighter up the more sedate French rivers? Thank you

    @@dangerousdave668 thank you mate. I use a 1.8 Mir boat it’s a boat world one. I wanted a boat with a aluminium floor so I know I can stand up in it when going along and also getting in and out no experience of inflatable floors so played on the safe side. I went for the 1.8 because anything heavier would be problematic on my own. For a night would be fine but it’s tight. I take a JRC bedchair, rucksack, JRC umbrella very light, rod sling, bait cool bag and camera gear. If you have not seen river Charente August 2018 that I did I have a few clips of me loaded up and how I load it on for a rough idea.

    Hello. How do you tie the line on the peg?

  • @waitingfortheweekend2441

    @waitingfortheweekend2441

    Hi mate if you watch carp fishing 2020 French river adventure I do an in-depth look at how I attach the line to the peg in that video. Basically it’s how you wrap the line around the peg so you can tighten from the bank but when you pull from the lead end ie a carp it pulls free easily and you get a drop back at the indicators

    @@waitingfortheweekend2441 I’ve only fished it since 2012. The weed is horrendous now. So are the catfish. And yeah up to the trees in is the only way to miss the cats I’ve found at the mo. Love the place but going to the Seine in March so hopefully I’ll get a decent one out. Fingers crossed. 😂

    Good luck mate fished the Seine also back in the day. Big angry river that one. Do some research on the lakes that are joined to the river had good success on them when the main river was carrying plenty of water or around spawning time. Fished around montereau was a good area back then
