nice mirror at an unusual time from my experience!,I’m pretty sure i’ve fished that exact same swim your in 🤔 if not very close and that’s where my PB 🙏 came from,it took me 16 years to go from 29lbs 11oz to go to 30lbs 2oz MIRROR 😍,i can still picture it now, when she came in the shallows and i saw her 😳 i nearly had a heart attack!!! LOL😄 and the longest 8/9mins of my angling life ensued 😱,of course when she hit the net i was GOBSMACKED SHAKING + i weighed her 3 times just to be sure 👍,to catch a carp from pit 6 😳 of that size was to this day the best fish of my life !,as you know on camera you just don’t see how HUGE pit 6 is !!!,great venue 👍,but so easy to BLANK on 6 !,tight lines 🙂.PS years ago we used to fish the old gravel pits at Girton right on the bank of the trent but then nottinghamshire police took it over and fenced it all off 🤬 + after that we still fished the Trent and never saw anyone fishing the pits 🤬☹️.

Yes mate had the same thing but with common carp, but I’ve been lucky this last two years and had a 30lb one of each. Girton is a syndicate now if we are on about the same lakes

Nice one mate, I've fished the pits but didn't have meaty enough gear one 8lb+ bream no carp. Fished 3 night sessions but I must have killed a nest full of robins lol. I bought all new gear a few years ago but my health has stopped me point blank. Great video, take care and screaming line's 👍😷👍

Thank you Andrew the pits are hard lakes so don’t beat yourself up especially pit 5+6. they are not a high stocking like some local lakes apart from pit 3 so location is the hardest part. If you fish pit 6 the fish love a new wind so fish close in if your rods are not up to casting big distances. Hope your health is good and good luck with the fishing 👍

@@waitingfortheweekend2441 It was lake 6, everyone had buoy's to cast to 120 yards plus, baiting up with boat's! We was fishing off the arm at the beginning of the lake! The A1 bank was lined in bivvies, the carp that was caught came at night nothing in the day! But I enjoyed it all the same. Thanks for the new wind heads up, that's one thing along with calm full moon's I love to fish. I've always felt that the carp follow the wind. Your videos have triggered so many great memories thank you 👍😷👍

Hello fella. Cracking video really enjoyed it. Pit 6 is a tough nut to crack you made it look easy. I'm in Nottingham and always fancied a trip there. Watching this has probably made my mind up. Like your river adventures as well.

Thank you John appreciate that. Don’t be fooled pit 6 is definitely not easy and I suffer the blank periods like anyone else you just have to make the most of the opportunities when they come along. The A1 pits is definitely an acquired taste but there are some lovely fish swimming in there and when you get one of the special ones it makes it all worthwhile 👍

Sam and James Fishing well done guys sounds like a cracking fish and I’m sure it made your day. My PB has gone up in very small amounts over the years and I’m so glad. Every time I better it I get that exited feeling. If you catch a big fish too early in your journey it may take years to better so appreciate everything you catch. Don’t be thinking everybody is catching big carp there not you have to set your goals on the fish in front of you good luck guys.

When fishing at long range I have my rod tips up with a tight line and my reel clutch a bit tighter than normal, if you fish this way with the Korda Heli Safe the lead will be dumped on the take and the fish will come up.

It will be very hard this time of year mate, it’s not Trent view or embryo with hundreds of fish. Pit 2 or 3 will be your best bet for the day. Walk around 3 and look in the margins they come very close in. Railway bank and split bank between 2-3 if you can’t find them. Unless they are showing in the middle fish margins to 3-4 rod lengths out. My video fishing in weed on the Chanel is on pit 3 will give you an idea of bait and distance 👍

@@mitchellscott2254 again I repeat not sure what you think you are seeing in the video or if you have even watched it. All carp were caught in the day time I even showed you the runs?. The sack is in the water all the time on the Trent bank because it is so shallow when I catch a fish I lift it out using the sack after breaking down the landing net. It’s called good fish handling skills and a lot of lakes it’s in the rules fish to be lifted from water to be supported in sling. Some people choose to have the landing net on two bank sticks in the water, I choose to do it this way.

@@kaceyhowitt2257 thanks for that. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but when there seeing things and putting 2+2 together and getting 6 it’s a little disappointing. I didn’t think I needed to explain every little detail in fish care but there’s always one.
