Justin Steel hi Justin appreciate the support mate. They are a powerful blank but with the clutch set right they were perfectly fine. Maybe you should do some river films I could do with the tips😂

Great video again mate, spot on 👌. Just got a set of shimano 9ft 3lb carp stalkers, don't pack down like the extractors but will be using them alot more than my 12s, awesome bits of kit. Keep it up J.🎣👍

I have been using the Shimano 9ft 3lb tc rods on my water and they are spot on, I can put a 3oz lead 80 yards with one. The only thing I do not like about them is that they feel very stiff in the tip when compared to a 12ft 3lbs rod.

markmason13 I guess that’s the trade off with still being able to cast a reasonable distance with a 9ft rod. I’ve got a Daiwa power mesh in 9ft 2/34 and bends very well, bur you would not want to cast with it

These look great for me. Another advantage apart from easy to carry is the space they take up in the car. I've got a 2 door BMW M sport and really don't want dirty rodbags laying on the front seat. I use Nash Dwarf 6ft rods a the moment but these would be more useful all around and even smaller pack size!

Hi mate I have the 6 ft dwarf as well they are give or take exactly the same size pack down. reel seat in different places though so limited to sonic rod bags. Quite stiff in 3 lb depends what you are using them for

@@waitingfortheweekend2441 That's good to know. I might go for the 2.5's as I mostly fish canals or small waters for carp and pike. I'd like think they'd be up to the job.

ive owned fully telescopic rods in the past and they weren't very good. how do these compare.

Hi Jay it seems to me that Sonik comes out with new bits of kit a lot and they seem to discontinue the previous models so getting replacments is hard. On another note its nice to see you back at the pits, I love that place.

markmason13 hi mark I think that is true of a lot of companies. I know Nash change there dwarfs nearly every year. The xtractors have been around for a few years now and I believe they sell very well. These are just a new concept on that. Hope your fishing is going well. I will have one coming soon on pit 6 you might like 😉

Lovely video again mate👍those sonik rods look great for stalking and very well made, but they didn’t look very forgiving when you was playing that fish! But I suppose at 8ft they have to be like that! What’s your opinion on the stiffness etc? Thanks Dan👊

Daniel Walker hi mate they are fairly stiff to be honest but you can feel the fish through the blank quite nicely. It’s hard to show in the film but they were bent a bit more than appeared when I watched it back. The pack down size is insane though I can put two reels in a rucksack the rods on the top like in the film and a two piece landing net in a stalking chair and walk a mile to some distant lakes no problem. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment mate 👍

Hi Owen just depends on your situation, if you want to cast them say 60-80 yards or use PVA bags and you can use your clutch and play them sensibly then they are fine. They did bend a little more than appears in the film but they are 3 lb rods so expect some backbone. If you are flicking out baits or margin fishing and want to hook and hold in shaggy situations then yes maybe 2 1/2 would be better
