  you gotta grind it out for at least 6 months. Something switches even with swift.. if youve been safe and not miss a dispatch right around 6 months they start giving you better loads. You get nire miles and a bump in pay. Your checks start averaging 1300 ish. then at 1 year you go work for another company .. dont job hop.. you limit what you are able to find because most carriers hate hiring a job hopper

  So I’ve been trucking 15years flatbed/van.. I’m about to give swift flatbed division a try due to the benefits they offer and the stability and growth of the company itself is impressive. Despite how bad ppl talk about swift I met some drivers who love it there. I’ve learned all companies pay is about the same. I made the same money at 50/mile that I did at 75cpm. Now I’m focused on who has the best benefits and stability. I would advise this young man if he’s surviving well enough with swift, STAY until u het that two years under your belt and go with a top tier company with LOW turnover rate. Ups,FedEx, RL, and such.. DONT CHASE THAT HIGH CPM BS other companies offer ..use this time to gain experience dont job hop, be patient . I know this a long post but I ain’t got sht to do right now😂

  I tell you what I started off local driving and I can’t stand stupid ppl on the road, when I went line haul in Alaska I love it was peaceful, now I’m in Arizona and a owner opt and been trucking for 16 years and I be with my family when ever I want due to I work when I wanna work, I work every other weekends and I head down to the Cali, Tx, FL, Co and back home, I can never go back to local or try anything else but good luck my friend!!!
