Just letting you know that the knowledge nuggets you have dropped in your Swift Rookie vids are absolute diamonds. It's the small things and situations as a new trucker and the real-life talk that add up and are so relatable. New CDL-A holder here. IMHO these types of vids are the best out there in the trucking world. Peace!

Man you need a CB. I cannot express that enough. It is like a carpenter working without a hammer. From getting to know in advance of accidents, speed traps, detours, traffic jams, bypasses - I mean all that stuff is important to know in advance. Getting stuck in a 3 hour traffic jam and losing the ability to get rest for another load will cost you money. I bought my CB before everything else because of how important and time saving they are. Get something simple like a Cobra 29LTD or whatever and a decent antenna. You will make that money back and then some. It is an investment but the wisest investment you will make in your trucking career.

I’d definitely will it’s just that I heard so many people say its not even worth anymore since everyone just talks s**** on the cb but I’ll eventually get one thanks man(:

No its not i have been trucking for 15 years and i have never had a CB its not necessary or that important especially with the technology today. All a CB is good for is listening to other truckers joke or cuss each other out if anyone tells you different they are lying. There’s apps out now that will broadcast weather updates for truckers without even having to touch your phone or if your with a company like swift and i know you left so I’m not sure if they do but most big carriers will call you if the weather conditions are getting worse around you to inform you or to inform you about traffic conditions

@@guardian1582 You're full of it. Your google maps or truckers path, etc. They ain't going to inform you of any kind of cops stationed running radar, accidents, etc. If an actual user does not report it and, sometimes you may lose cell data or your maps just freak out. They don't do it automatically. Sure you don't *have* to have a CB radio but you should. Even if it's a lot of chitter chatter, they're good to have because there are things your cellphone are not going to tell you, that ONE guy on the CB radio might inform you and other drivers of, and you get a heads up. CB will have it's moments it saves your ass, and you can talk to other people if you're bored, whatever. Again, you don't have to have a CB if you don't want but I definitely think it's an essential tool that will come in handy in certain times. Hell if your google maps, garmin or whatever makes you unsure, ask someone on the CB and they might have a more comfortable answer for you.

Don’t actually know how or why your video showed up on my recommended list but I went ahead and listened to it. Your comments about the disgruntled driver made me think. I see this a lot. I’ll never really understand why drivers are so quick to cuss and swear and complain and yell. I’ve been out here for years and that never was my forte. Like honking the horn at people on the road. Too much stress. I’m glad your learning. Swift is as good as any of them. I’m proud for you. Reach out if you ever need anything.
