I filmed a lot of parkour content back then and made some great memories! Now getting into inline skating (urban cruising mostly) and came across your channel. Lots of respect for what you're doing. First of all, you are unbelievable. What you do on those inline skates is crazy. Before I bought my ice skates I started learning the elements of figure skating on inline skates (I did my first waltz jump on asphalt) and I know the difficulties. For practical reasons, I am still learning most things on my inline skates and then transferring this to ice. My ultimate goal is to learn an Axel, but I was stuck and scared, thinking it was impossible. So I have to thank you cause you got me inspired and motivated to try again. I hope to return to your channel with good news. Let's keep going!

@@giadadaga2743 I really appreciate hearing all this!! The axel has been very frustrating and difficult jump for me to learn, every time I try to fix something about my form, it gets significantly worse, so it’s like a very slow progression with massive ups and downs. I also started figure skating on normal inline skates and you really are limited by the absence of a toe stop. I recently got artistic inline skates and I can say that the toe stop really helps with jumps. I haven't been able to skate all that much with my new skates because I've been getting nasty blisters while I break in my new boots. So far, I've been able to do waltz and salchows. Still working my way up to a single axel. Once I get used to the toe stops, I might start exploring one foot spins. Hope to see more content from you! cheers

I’m not too knowledge about turns yet so I can’t really explain them my self but if you watch a video on three point turns I suggest learning them soon after your leg heals up because they aren’t too hard and they open up a lot of options, but hey, I did the walk to turn around thing for about two years and it will eventually look pretty good if you keep practicing it!

hey buddy you're clear determined, nice to see this :D but these skates will only take you so far in artistic inline skating, have you ever thought about getting proper inline artistic skates, like snow white or Jackson mirage, golden horse is also i good option, if you like the extra length and the 4 wheels setup you can look into pic skates or golden horse 4 wheels frame that's even better than pic skates bc pic skates has the problem of the non adjustable and proprietary toe stop. Very good jump!! As a figure skater I’ll tell you that you’ll probably get a carrot on that jump! A carrot means that it’ll count just - GOE. My piece of advice for double sal, ofc on ice is diff than inline skates, but my advice for on ice if u wanna do it there you gotta wait on your entrance a bit. When you do it try and keep your right arm upwards. Sometimes when jump with your arm scooping down you’ll reach the ice with that arm. Something I do with doubles is I hold my hands together. I land with holding my hands and it helps with me not falling.

It's funny how at first I had no idea about the difference between the jumps, then I learned the theory of each of them, and now I'm seeing a lot of similarities I didn't expect. Salchow looks like an Axel entering backward or with a very quick forward entrance. And now this "toeloop on the edge" might also look similar to the salchow. And then I remember that quad skates use the toe stop on both the toeloop and the salchow 😂

  • @SolidSkates

I need really good form to use only the edge since I don’t use a toe stop, so I fall a lot on these. At speed, it's worth considering getting slider gloves (slider pucks on fingers, thumb, palm). I've lost a month and counting on a broken finger. Without wrist & elbow pads I'd have broken all those things and more.
