Inline Figure Skating Session 10

Number 10!! I've been posting consistently for about a month now, and it's been the best month of my life, just focusing on what I love to do the most. One day I'll be on session number 100. Till then I will continue to practice everyday and learn as much as I can. I will be adding the loop jump to my skill set, and plan on making a breakdown video on it soon. Expect great things!

My my, I have missed a few of your videos, nice progress on the salchows! Still, the thing in ice skating that always mesmerizes me is the fluidity of movement when just going forwards or backwards and I see it in your videos as well. You are at a point now, where the skates are to a certain point an extension of you. So nice job! 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Oof! 9:30, I also have a wheel missing from my inline skates, so I only have 7 wheels lmao. By the way, those spins were sick!! I wish I could be able to do it like that one day!! Keep going.

What state are you in? It’s only nice in the summers here, it rains almost everyday in the winter and fall, the ground practically never fully dries in the off seasons, so it’s all parking garages.

I"ve been trying to land this damn jump on inlines for 2 years now. I'd given up, but you make it look doable. We try again. BTW, 85A is a great durometer for city skating, you look like you weigh about what I do, maybe 15 pounds more. Rollerblade Hydrogen wheels if you can afford them, or Labeda Asphalt 85A are a great bang for buck option on 80mm.

I just put a new pair roller blade hydrogen wheels on my skates! Yes man, keep practicing it! I’d love to see some film of you attempting it, let me know if you post anything!

We need to get you some better wheels! Wheels and frame size is a rabbit hole that needs exploring.

For real. It gets so complicated and weighing all of the pros and cons is tough when all the options are so expensive 😭

I've experienced huge differences in changing wheels for indoor wooden floor use. Soft wheels = too much grip and flex going deep edges. Hard wheels rule on wood = super responsive and far more precise but less grip, but that's also great for single foot spins. I still use very hard 92a wheels outdoors but 86a 88a is alright and far more comfortable for uneven ground. Frames is a whole new world with the modern fashion for those long Wizard things. I wouldn't go bigger than the 243 4x80 for this type of skating, I'm doing very similar stuff on a downsized 231 4x76 frame. It's far better for technical footwork just less stable at high speed...

I wear size 10 skates, and I feel like an extra 10-20 mm of wheel base might be better, but who knows. I would love to try out an indoor place for these jumps. Do you go to roller rinks and try this stuff out? I don't have any indoor places I can go that are close to me.

@@SolidSkates That's a US 10 so a UK 9. I'm wearing UK 8 Evo's. Have you played around with Frame positioning? Even with the Frame moving completely forward you don't get much wheel in front of you but I like that. There's masses of side to side adjustment but the front boot mounts can be a pain to move! I do skate far more indoors as we live less than 10 minutes from our local rink but I do like an outdoor session. My skating style is fairly similar to yours (same skates and set-up) only I'm far more busy up top, all Figure skating arms but self taught. So frame wise you look very comfortable on the 243mm. Personally I think those long Wizard frames look horrible and clumsy, you'll also end up adopting the Wizard skating style because of the long wheelbase and I don't think that's your thing...
