I'm a master in falling, when I was a child I used to fall so many times that I mastered this art by never have injured myself, the only damage to my body was some scrapes on the skin but nothing more. This is for me the best TIP ever, everyone should start by knowing how to land without majore injouries

I just picked up in-line skating with my 2 sons. All three of us are learning at the same time. Thank goodness you and a few other KZreadrs are here to show us how it’s done! I’m learning a lot faster than I anticipated.

I bought a pair of skates a couple years ago. Unfortunately, I had a medical issue that caused weakness and balance issues and I couldn't do it. Fast forward 18 months after surgery and a lot of exercise and I am ready to try again. I have balance and strength! Thank you for your videos. I am sure that come spring, my dogs will love your videos even more!

thank you for your videos. I mostly like two things. The first one, is that all that you explain, is clear, an easy to understand. English is not muy firts language, and I catch, almost everything. The second is the passion you transmit. It is clear thar you love this sport, and can transmit it to others. Great.

When I started skating I watched few tutorials on stopping and decided to learn T stop first - in about 3 one hours sessions i burned a lot of rubber. So I would not recommend it beginners, unless you can afford to buy new set of wheels in about a month or two. Better start with good plow and more important - carving. T stop doesnt work in situation when you need to stop fast, its only good for slowing down.

My take on turning via cross-overs is that you have to master the balance on your feet of forwards backwards. Basically if you can stand on one foot moving than you've got it. Because in order to cross-over, you have to balance on one foot whilst moving, and crossing over each other, each foot. Now its always going to be easier right over left turning left, for some reason... To practice forward backward balance on one foot, just keep it slow but steady and whilst moving, lift one foot off the ground, swap, repeat and extend the length of time on one foot as much as you can... Happy skating all - just my take on itl - Cheers Ricardo

Hey Ricardo. New subscriber! Thanks for the videos. I’ve been incline skating for a couple years now. I can can skate pretty well on even pavement and on slopes as well and I just started manoeuvre through people when going downhill (not dogs, kids or strollers.. that I have to wait for a clear path) I’m just trying to figure out what my legs have to do when I go downhill, I don’t know how to stop when going downhill, I just wait til I slow down. What’s the first step I have to take to stop. Thanks!

Great info and video. A broken tail bone is brutally painful... for protection I never skate without my Superman Underpants, they provides protection for the coccyx and hips. I'm using bodyprox brand but there are many others. You can't feel the padding when skating and I forget there on, there is no down side IMHO.
