    Thanks for the video I have to check out those books! 💗 It's funny how much we hold onto stress as some kind of badge of worthiness when it's actually harming us. Also, I'm just a random stranger but heads up I tried to read "The Courage To Be Disliked" and had to quit. It came across to me as pseudo spirituality and promotes spiritual bypassing and denial of emotions. And I'm usually pretty open to new age self help! I'm curious what you'll think.

    This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes As an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

    I currently doing a reverse diet as well and can’t even think about my next cut! I ended my cut at 1,100 calories and have worked my way up to 1,600 cal over the past 6 weeks! Though this sounds alarming, I’m so eager to continue my reverse for as long as I can; I also have no clue where my new maintenance will be, so that will be a great learning opportunity! Further, my question is why do you want to start your next cut in September, right around the holidays? 😅😅 Love your videos! Feels like I’m listening to a close friend😁🩷

    I'm not sure if you mention it later in the video, but it's not just calories burned during exercise - it is also the fact that many calorie calculators assume ideal body fat %, while most people looking at the calculators are way beyond ideal bf%. Let's say using calculator net and you use the Miffin St Jeor formula vs Katch-McArdle, it can be a 10-25% difference. That is massive, for many people it can mean that the amount they are eating makes no difference. Google Fit is much more accurate, not sure about Apple because I haven't used it. About the later part of the video - I think do whatever works for you as long as it's sustainable for YOU. Some people do better on 1 meal, some 2, some 3 and some on even more. Sleep - important, but again varies. Home cooked meals - some people eat out every day, that can be done healthy as well, healthy food is better ofc since it's harder to over-consume, but even healthy food can be over consumed. In the end the only thing that matters is adherence.

  • @Hertz2laugh
    @Hertz2laughАй бұрын

    Calories aren't as important as glucose/insulin control. For example: 1) 300 calories of apple 2) 300 calories of animal fat Even if the number of calories is the same (300 vs 300), the effect on body weight will be different. The sugar in the apples will elevate your blood glucose. This will, in turn, elevate your insulin levels. The higher your insulin levels, the more water weight you retain, and the more "tightly" your body will "hold onto" fat cells. So, the more carbs (a.k.a. sugars) you eat, the more "puffy" you will look and the more weight you gain compared to eating the exact same number of calories as fat. This is just one of many reasons why focusing on calories will never be as effective as focusing on macros -- all calories are not created equal.

  • @olavisau
    @olavisauАй бұрын

    It depends how much weight are you trying to lose - if you're trying to lose 10kg (22lb), the only thing that matters is calories in vs out. Usually healthy food does make it much easier to lose weight though and protein is not burned as efficiently as well.

  • @Strongirlmar
    @StrongirlmarАй бұрын

    I think I’m leaning more towards agreeing with @olavisau

  • @Hertz2laugh
    @Hertz2laughАй бұрын

    @@olavisau That's an interesting idea, but human physiology doesn't change depending on how much weight a person wants to lose. Whether you want to lose 1kg or 100kg, the kind of calories you eat (a.k.a. macros) will either make it easier or harder to lose weight. Aside from that, the next highest impact on weight loss is meals/day, not calories. A person will lose more weight if they eat one 1800 calorie meal per day than off they eat three 600 calorie meals per day even though the total calories are the same. This goes back to insulin control - with one meal per day, your insulin levels will be lower for longer which means your rate of "fat-burning" will be higher for longer. Calorie intake matters. Just not as much as what kind of calories you are taking in or how often you are taking them in. Remember, technically speaking, humans cannon eat calories because calories are just a measurement of energy - humans can't eat energy. We aren't solar panels. So, whenever calories are mentioned, the question that should always be answered is "calories *_of what?"_* Calories of rocks? Calories of glass? Calories of cane sugar? Calories of cyanide? Calories of protein? Calories of fat? Calories are a way of counting. The more relevant question is "what are you counting?"

    You can absolutely out train a bad diet. You cannot train away excess calories. I ate 2 big ass pizzas and 2 tubs of Ben & Jerry's last November and lost 2lbs for the week because I was low cal high volume for most of the week. Overall education is what will fix everyone's weight. Knowing their tdee for a normal day, gym day and lazy day will help a LOT. But so will whole foods, proper nutrition and exercise. If you're tracking your foods and your workouts you'll also quickly figure out which foods your body does not do well on. There's no magic bullet. You need activity, good nutrition and calorie control.

    I know the calories burned are not 100% accurate but it's just an estimation. The Apple Health and Exercise App work together and ask for your age, height, and weight. When I do an exercise s using my Apple Watch my movements and heart rate are being monitored. You put the age + height + weight +movements +heart rate + length of the exercise and Apple will give you an estimation. I don't think there is any device on the market that is 100% accurate no matter how much you pay for it. Since my daily calorie intake goal is already at a calorie deficit of 1700 calories I'm not that worried about the precise number of calories burned since I will be at a calorie deficit at the end of the day anyways. I 100% agree with you that your diet and the foods you eat matters more than the exercises you do. Your video is good and I hope your KZread channel grows. Good job.

    Omg this is a great nuanced contribution to this discussion thank you😋 My target audience with this video is definitely the people who obsess about calorie burning without considering the bigger picture: 2-3 strength sessions per week 6-8k steps per day 3-4 balanced meals a day 0.6-1.0g of protein per lb of bodyweight 7-8 hrs of quality sleep per night And managing stress

    Rizzy gyatt doesnt lie...it aint about calories burned its about long term progress. Stop tracking cal in cal out, eat normal human portions and continuously break your own limits. Make sure to get rest. This doesnt happen in a week, minimum 6 months of hitting the grind before you SEE results and about two months before you FEEL results.
