  It’s a combination of all. With the performance of the Porter I could almost out-climb the mountain when departing straight ahead and with no load. It isn’t as dramatic has the video suggests but it’s still a cool view!

  So love what you do for the people. I enjoy the happy faces and the anticipation of when they first hear your engine. Do you do flyover to notify your about to land? How do the people know when your arriving ? Did I hear a stall warning just as your touching down?

  Thanks for your kind message, Bruce! Yeah, I usually overhead unless I have established radio coms with the village. In that case, and if they know I’m coming I’ll just go straight in to final. I guess if there are no radios then the ppl will only know the plane is coming when they hear it 😂 Yes, we usually land on the stall warning. Cheers for your question! Keep well

  The pilot is exceptionally skilled, hats off to him. I think some big trees should be cut off frequently for easy landing as these trees will increase day by day.

  If you have a working engine a go-around is always an option. Only glider pilots lack that option.

  i wonder if it would be possible to airlift a small bulldozer or even a mid size tractor with ripping blade and box scraper to build these runways ?

  The only way to get a bulldozer is to fly it in with a chopper. Too expensive for these villages to afford and extremely heavy. You’d need a big helicopter.
