We want to share our off-roading adventures and shenanigans in our SXS's with all of you! We'll get into some difficult trails and situations, hill climbs, rock crawling, and some normal easy trail riding to see some sights. We like to get out and check out new off-road areas and parks. We want to share our knowledge of off-road racing, riding, and fabricating with you. How to videos, reviews, and all the messes we get into on the trails, we'll show you all of it.
Amber spent some time professionally racing monster trucks and working on them. She has raced SXS's at the hill climb events. She is the only girl in a SXS to climb several famous hills and to complete a backflip in a SXS. Stephen has raced dirt track modifieds, some SXS woods races, and has many years experience in off-roading and turning wrenches.
We hope to see you out on the trails! If you see us stop and say HI. If you like our channel please subscribe, share, like, and comment on anything and everything we do.

Sucks no more of this series came out.
Yup. Was a slow build in the background to make it affordable for the customer. Sondidnt film much after the kit got put together. Got it ready for Powdercoat. About two years ago he picked it up to get powdercoated and a fuel cell built and haven’t seen it since. His rzr is still here in pieces and a lot of parts ready to go in chassis. Don’t know what alls going on with it.
How in the hell did you ever think to stuff bread in there!!!?
Thanks for posting this
Could buy that poor girl some new jeans
The ole "imma douche" wave! 🤘
How much is that to diy it? And how much if I bring the trans to you
Hope you guys are at the 2024 Bash
Scott County ky?
do you ever change any of the bearings I see where some people are having bearing failures i mostly do trail riding and some mud little bit of drag racing 2016 xpt w/32 crypids oem clutch and trans Fixing to put the whalen 190 - 218hp tune and the newer cam and injectors just want a lower gear for low range for the mud When my belt starts slipping I just stop and winch it out My high gear is perfect
At Devils backbone and other places where there’s big rocks you will find fossils such as horn corals. Horn corals are said to lived 400-500 million years ago. When your stopped and taking a break, walk around and look. Within 2 minutes you will find them and other fossils. Fun fact: Devils backbone is a little over 800 ft above sea level so at one time the bone was under water. And some of the hills with a deep rut shows how much that hill has been ridden on. Over the years of riding people have carved the hills away and sadly all that rain water flows down and floods farmers crops.
When did they remove the crushed up jeep (I think) that was on the backbone? Been many years since I've been.
Do you know if you have to grind if you start with with a pro xp trans to use the 50 tooth
Unless it’s a 2023 (supposedly no grinding) case you’ll have to grind a little bit but it’s not much
I know this is an old video, but I saw where per manufacturer tech say to tap the side of the puller too. I had the same problem and I tried that and it seemed to help too
Dropping by to let you know I got the gear reduction installed that you recommended for my 35" Roxzilla Red labels. They are spot on! I think its one step deeper gear than you have in Vlad. 66 something? I followed your video's to do the install. Just riding around the yard it seems super low and should be perfect in the big rocks. No doubt the RZR is transformed. We are headed out next weekend to get it into some serious rocks and see how it does. Everyone asks about top speed. GPS confirmed 60mph at about 7300 rpm after reduction on 35" 'zillas (34" measured on the machine at 10psi). Speedo reads low by about 20%. I will bet others in our group do gear reductions after this weekend. Thanks Steven!!!!
Before installing uppers, put bolts thru oem uppers and lay the adjustable ones on top til the bolts go thru the new ones too
Thanks for the video. What is the new top end for low gear? My pro xp with stock gears can do 40+ mph in low. Obviously it won't go as fast with the new gears so what is your experience? Are the new gears noisy?
Came over from watching the can am crew! You have great content, I subscribed 👍
Awesome and thank you!
What’s the secret on the pump I’m getting ready to hydro swap mine and don’t want the pulley drive
Get them from dirt division utv or we can get you a price. You can email us at [email protected]
When I fit my plate underneath and the drain hole is in the right place the long end of the plate sits on top of the engine guard like yours did when you first fit it. Then when you have it clamped in place ready to weld I noticed the edge near the engine guard are even and the sides are against the tube frame. If I do this then the drain plug doesn't align and the back end hits the radius rods. Did you cut the long end slots to get it to fit?
hey i just bought a 11 800s what engine oil do u guys run , i saw you mention in a comment you run rotella because it’s better then polaris. is it diesel rotella
On our turbos we run rotella. When we had 800’s and 1000’s we just ran a good name brand synthetic.
So to clear 35s you just did the forward a arms ?
Yes. Forward arms. Wheels are 3.5/3.5 offset
What was the top speed in high after the gear reduction?
Owners says on gps he hit 73
RS1 is the way to go for most. Love mine
Love the "in the shop" video's.
Thanks rev!
So if you think a billet xp turbo diff with sandcraft boom proof kit is just as good as a rs1 front diff then why do all that extra work? I’m debating doing the rs1 diff swap but if the billet diff is just as good then I would do that first. Let me know what is best. Thanks
Fully built xp diff Is almost the same or the same strength as a STOCK rs1 diff is my opinion. So I’d calculate the cost of the billet case and upgraded internals vs a new or new/used rs1. Like this diff was 1200 and the Coffman bracket was 400 i think. So 1600 and some elbow grease you’re as strong or stronger as fully built xp. With room to upgrade internals if needed. I’d do the rs1 swap over building up a xp diff if it were me.
@@CrashCitySxS thanks for your advice. Much appreciated and great video.
@250offroad9 you’re welcome and thanks for watching
When you do a gear reduction, would you have to change the gearing in the diff to match?
No since the front diff is ran straight from the transmission (transaxle) you don’t have to do anything to the front
@@CrashCitySxSHow come I'm told I can't install a RS1 front differential in my TRE because of the gearing?
@Indianahillclimber most rzr front diff ratios are around 3.17:1. TRE is 3.82:1. They’re probably wondering if that gearing difference in the front is gonna bind up the driveline. The only difference in the transmission is gearing. The always say you have to change out the ring gear and pinion shaft to do that swap in a HL or TRE. But the final ratios in the rear are around the same as other rzrs or rzrs with gear reduction so is there really that big of a difference??? The ratio in the front has to be a little different than the rear to let the 4wd work the way they have it work. I need to look more into this…..
@@CrashCitySxSIv always wondered that too. I’m just glad I didn’t buy one of those models. All the parts sellers all they you can’t use their diff parts or their transmission parts in the tre. I’m assuming the different diff gearing is to make the fronts spin even quicker than the rears, making the diff grab that much sooner and harder, but that doesn’t mean doing a gear reduction in the transmission would change any of that. Iv read a lot where people say you can’t rs1 swap the tre, but wouldn’t you just be changing it to a regular drive ratio. Only thing I can think of is if the tre transmissions have a different output gearing to the front driveshaft, I’m not sure if that’s the case and I doubt it would be, like if the snorkel gear had a different gearing then I could see how all of that would be different
Definitely a lot easier with a plasma cutter. I did this with a cutoff wheel and a dremel and it sucked, bad.
I would honestly hate to have to do it with a cutoff wheel. Hats off to you!!
😂wdto and broke boys and me will be there
Good crew for sure!
You guys should come to royal blue for new years it’s going to be great time
Probably can’t make that one. Got a few jobs in the shop to knock out
🔥
You said...don't break nothin....what? Nothin lmao
Flashbacks of breaking down back there at the end of the day we’re running through my mind lol
@CrashCitySxS love to watch yall. The slow crawl technical work is the best. Can't wait to see more. You Amber and the crew God Bless and have a Merry Christmas
Thank you and same to you!!
Son of gun...looky here. Great to see yall...
Glad to see you guys got to get out on the trails again!
Gonna get back out there soon for some more!
We need to plan a trip.
Let’s go!!
Eyyyyy y’all back!
Lol for one trail anyway😃 Making ride schedule for ‘24 so we know we have days schedule to hit the trails
Where was this show?
How do you normally get there gear off the one shaft that can't be reached with the puller? I think in this video you use a press but curious what you used to press it off
Have a hobo freight 20 ton press we use. Gotta get 1/8” plate to get between the bearing and gear and it’ll pop off and outta there
I have a 2012 RZR 800 S, What must I do to run bigger tires. I'll settle for 32's.
Your options are limited. No internal reduction available for the 800. You could put portals on it. And I’d you get in some good trails clutching alone won’t help a lot going from a 26” tire to a 32”
Finally someone addressed this issue of the high being too high! Got the same issues. High is way too high but seems alright in low with 35 zillas and stock everything. So I guess the high can be reduced separately without messing with low?
Yes you can gear down high only roughly 21%. We’ll have the parts up on our website this weekend. www.crashcityoffroad.com
Wish you guys were closer would love to bring my RZR by and let you guys help me out!@@CrashCitySxS
Great video. I’m running the same exact gear combinations in my pro xp with 35s. Its crawls absolutely amazing.
Never thought much about the stage 3 till I talked to you. Then kinda thought it’s be too much until I drove this. It’s crazy smooth. Gonna be switching mine over soon. Thanks!
@@CrashCitySxS welcome and thank you for the help as well. Don’t remember if I messages u back or not but I did have to clearance my side case just a hair for the 50 tooth gear to clear.
Yes you did. Thank you. I think you sent a pic and it wasn’t hardly much you had to remove.
I'm really surprised you guys don't have more subscribers. I love you how to video's.
We haven’t posted much as we’ve been so busy in the shop but trying to get back to making videos more often. Thanks for watching!
Good video
Thanks
If I ever switch to Polaris would like to have that done good informative video
Come to the dark side lol
Good video like always!
Thank ya sir
Thanks for the tour. I know the building, at least how it was before they bought it. It was Reliance Electric's small electric motor plant. Then it was Midwest Tube Mills. I did a lot of work in there on the tube mills just a few years back. I stopped by a few weeks back to take a look at how much it had changed. They are doing a great job bringing manufacturing back to Indiana, and supporting the community. Way to go, Super ATV (and Dorman). I love seeing investments in our state's industry.
I’m sure next year we go down there it’ll be even bigger!
Calling the 1K Geared Reverse a 1K trans is almost doing it a disservice, inside and out it's a Turbo trans just without the 4 bolt driveshaft mount (which I wish SuperATV would create an adapter for this. If Eric is watching, tell him they need to offer this with their driveshafts. It's make trail repairs 100x easier).
Thanks for the back story. I do wish that the background music was way lower so I could hear you better.
It’s always hard for me to judge how loud to set that at. I actually went a little lower than usual. Thanks though I’ll go lower next time!
Very Cool! Thanks for sharing.
Grate video guys!
Thanks jack!
Ok.... Bought a 2020 XP 1K used. When I bought the unit, it already has a gear reduction kit performed on it. Found out later that the front diff is a 2016 TURBO diff with a Sandcraft "Bombproof" kit installed. I received the stock gears from the transmission with the unit. The shaft in the box only has the one fixed gear and a loose bigger gear in the box. From what you just explained in this vid. What are the chances of my transmission being a TURBO unit instead of the XP unit? The other vids i've seen you guys do on a TURBO version has the same "single gear" shaft , not the shaft shown in this video? Any input would be great to answer my question. Thanks
If it’s got a gear reverse instead of a chain in it and the input shaft low gear is removable then you have a turbo trans. Should be a part number on the transmission case you can alsway check it that way too
