we live there !! actually it was carved by a single rock!! and the architecture was pure amazing and designs on the pillars are now on saree borders!! now a days!! and there is a huge nandi statue from a distace but it is straight to the lord linga (shiva)statue !! amazing architecture!!

All other pillars are holding it's weight and distributing it's weight to every pillar equally you know (distribution of weight) Its all science. (not magic)
Now don't start ancient levitating technology etc it would be a marvel if all the pillars were having this kind of gap but actually it just this one, when the surrounding pillars are supporting the roof then the middle pillar can be attached to the roof itself and keep it in air. I have have half demolished house near my place where just half of the pillar is hanging in air. There's no technology here just a gimmick to make fools more fool and lighten their pockets. Now BRING ON THE HATE geniuses
