I've a mk2 Scirocco it only had adjustment on one end of the rack. Is is just a case of fitting a second adjustable tie rod and ball joint to make both sides adjustable? Are the rods the same lengths and thread etc both sides?

Hey! Welcome back! I was just worried that something happened to you. Glad to see you're still at it. These Golf restorations are a multi-year thing. They take ages when they're in our garages as a hobby instead of front and center. The work you've done on your engine/suspension bits are top notch, and I'm enjoying your journey with the shell as well. I think by the end you're going to have a Golf you can be proud of! I've been working on my own mk1 as well (It's a USA Rabbit). I don't have a lot of time for it, but when I do I try to make it count. Good luck with the restoration, and don't be a stranger!

Hey, was wondering how are the plated engine parts/bolts holding up? no corrosion creeping though the shiny finish?
@upcyclethepastutp99012 ай бұрын
Hey man, can't really say anything because all of the plated parts are inside not exposed to the elements so they still look good, we shall see after a couple of drives and washes 😀

Great video, rebuilding my vacuum pump too. Had the service manual at hand and noticed you put the diaphragm in backwards. Double checked with Manuel, "raised center away from the pump body". Not sure it that will affect the vacuum, but if your having problems, could be the reason. Engine is looking good!
