@@upcyclethepastutp9901 Yeah I believe you time is everything.. remember that :D who knows maybe one day can be cool to take a visit :D Yeah welding is a pain and I need to learn it also ;) For the paint I can help :) I was thinking will you rebuild the engine and transmission ? Wiring (if is brittle) ? Robber parts , triming and hoses I saw that here is Serbia they make them.

No, do not replace the original roof. The car will not be the same again and will probably loose structural integrity. Both wheels are beautiful, so if steel wheels are wider that the OZ 13" ones, then use the steel wheels for summer tyres and the smaller ones for winter tyres. P.S. Sofie is amazingly beautiful dog.

Those steel rims are in fact Passat winters ( they also made a G60 Passat!) they are the same as Mk2 golf G60’s apart from the golf ones have Round holes on the rim not tear drops 👍🏻 They will look awesome on the Mk1 with a 195 45 15 tyre on 👌🏻

I knew about the g60 passat, almost bought one xD ! But i didnt knew that there is a difference between g60 golf and passat winter steelies ! Interesting

I also bought a twingo open roof just like you. For 50€ I believe.. but I never got it installed.. shame to cut the roof off. But I still think it could be a nice thing to have.

The only thing cutting the roof off will do is cause a bunch of work sourcing a roof skin to weld in and paint later. I’d save the headache.

I agree, my friend had an aftermarket sunroof installed and it weakend the chassis. He had a small collision and the roof bent up shattering the sunroof.

Please don't put that Renault roof in...

It was in impulse idea/buy, as time passed I realized that i will keep the roof as is :D
