I just wanted to comment on this, although I know this video is 2 yrs old now lol, because I’ve been interested in becoming a L&D nurse recently after being a HH nurse for 3+ yrs, I found your video. This video brings me such warmth! It reminds me so much of the old style vlogs I used to watch as a teenager where it was fall time and everyone would do hauls of what they got shopping and I just love your vibes❤️ I had to subscribe after watching.

NOt sure why this came up on my feed here, but have to say - nursing isn't for everyone. It is a very specific profession, when not only your skill is very important for well-being of patients, but also your character and compassionate nature level. Just got out of 4 days after surgery hospital stay, it was very bad stay, b/c of terrible staff. By terrible I mean, impersonal, cold on the brink of rude burses, a super mean CNA woman, they had zero compassion to me as an elder in pain. I have heard gossips at the post about myself and how needy I was, I heard burse shouting Just Shut Up! to my beeping at the post bell asking for assistance. It was horror stay. I prayed only for never get sick again, never experience dependance of heartless others again. That's how elderly abuse goes on in nusring homes, thank goodness I was able to go home in only four days. Just change you path, do clinical work, go to aesthetics, massage you name it, somewhere you are happy to be and gift your happiness to those who in suffering comes to seek your professional attention.

I agree with you. I’m a stay at home mom currently, and I am about to enter nursing school. I’m diving in head first because I know this is what I need to do to better provide for our family and I’m completely dedicated to making my kids lives even better! They had me for their most important developmental years, and now they’ll also have a mom who has a great career helping people and providing for them too. It’s totally different when you have kids. You’d do anything come hell or high water. You’ll make it happen even if it kills you. Life doesn’t end at kids, it’s just beginning!

Hi can you talk about how you can do full time school nurse plus the OB/L&D shifts?
Yes I will explain it all in a video! I’m working full time at the school during the school year so end of august-June and then also PRN LD throughout the year and obviously picking up more full time hours over the summer! I’ll be filming a update and answering questions soon:)
Can you do a video on some of the most common things you see in your clinic and any resources/tips for new school nurses? I have been a pediatric nurse for one year and just accepted an offer as a school nurse for a private school and I'm super excited but super nervous!!

I am so impressed with your school and all of the fun and wonderful activities that go on throughout the school year! It sounds like the perfect job for you as their school nurse. I am a teacher at a very large public school and it's just too big and populated to do a lot of the fun activities so it's great watching what your school does during the school year.
How did you do your prints wall? Did you use like a staples and cardstock!
I got all the photos from the Tezza website! And I use painters tape to hang them up! I used to have them in my room at home and the painters tape held up really good and didn’t damage the walls! Especially good for me now since I am renting my condo:)

I love how you actually focus much on things like body wash. Maybe I should too, but I'm relieved just to take a shower and to save effort, mostly use shampoo for everything. Thanks for inspiring me though. If I had a local friend like you, my open honesty toward her would hopefully embarrass me enough to perform well in spite of challenges. Hi, my name is Madi, I'm a nurse and the biggest thing I need in life is peace of mind. I'm not sure why, and figuring it out is very hard, next to impossible in a hectic everyday life. I think that it's mostly because I'm sensitive and emphatic but that might not be the whole story, not even half of it, and that's the scary part - the unknown.
So as the school nurse what do you do for kids with infected toenails, extremity pain, etc? I would love to hear not only what you see but how you treat. 😊
