I cried when you told how much the loss of the baby affected you in the locker room, I can imagine what you went through... that baby and mother were lucky to have such a fantastic nurse...

I love this video so much. This is the raw footage of what it’s like being a nurse. Not a lot of people share this info, they only share the best and most perfect parts of a nurse. And i just loved how honest and genuine you were 🫶🏼

Im a med surg nurse in Nebraska and I started around the same time as you. It really hit home seeing you talk about the infant loss you witnessed. My VERY first day of orientation, one of my patients died-- turned out that patient was my (then) fiancé's family friend. I was honestly devastated for literal weeks. Every time I closed my eyes I could see his face, and I had dreams about him. Just know that you're not alone, and it does get better!

I am so very sorry you have to be a witness to those heartbreaking moments. I am so thankful that there are people like you doing this work because your heart has so much love to give. You are so selfless & I have so much respect for you. God has such an incredible plan for you I can feel it. Also on a side note, you said "do people even like hearing me talk?" ABSOLUTELY!!!! I am going into nursing this fall so I love hearing your perspective and tips and encouragement. Every nurse I talk to has tried to convince me out of it but you are so encouraging and supportive & it makes me feel so empowered. You are such a light. I am going to pray for you girly!!! God bless you richly 🤍🤍🫶🏻

Madi, I can empathize with you a lot. I'm in Women's/Newborn's Services as a RN too and it is totally not playing with babies all day. It is alot at times. And you can feel very spread thin. Nursing is hard.

Omg Madi, when I got to the part where you asked if we thought you were boring or if we like to hear you talk, I got so sad! It is literally the best part of my day when I see that you've uploaded a new video. You're my favorite KZreadr and I always love videos where you talk. I'd absolutely LOVE a podcast from you as well. You could make podcast episodes all about being a newer nurse or nursing school tips!!

Thank you for being authentic and real, that’s something that’s hard to find these days. I am so sorry about the loss of that baby, I can’t imagine how hard that must’ve been. But it sounds like you have a great support system at work! My unit is like that as well, I’ve met some of my best friends working on it. Madi, you are an amazing nurse and your hospital is lucky to have you!!💗🫶🏼

I love your sit down and talk videos Madi! As a new RN as well it is nice to hear someone else touch on the subjects you do in your videos because I haven’t heard many RN’s discussing struggles that new RN’s and RN’s in general have or how hard it can be transitioning to a RN from nursing school to getting an actual job as a RN. Your videos make me feel understood and like I am not alone because I feel many of the same feeling you are as well!❤ I would also definitely listen to your podcast if you make one!

I’m a NICU nurse in a level 3 unit. I just wanna say, the MDs and NNPs I work with are amazing. yes there are some that are a little more intimidating to speak to. BUT they are very respectful and open to the RNs questions and opinions. so please know and be encouraged that not all MDs/NNPs are like the ones that you are interacting with! i’m so sorry that’s been your experience 😢

I’m doing my pre-nurse classes and as somebody that almost passed away because of a doctor's negligence, I will do my best as a nurse every second. Personal opinion, but I feel nurses are more on hands and caring than some doctors that are just there for a few seconds. It is difficult to this day how the doctor never recognize it was his fault. I had a new nurse during the process and I can thank her enough for how dedicated and lovely she was. We need more healthcare personnel like that. ❤

Madi for some reason I don’t get immediate updates when you post new videos I used to don’t know I don’t anymore. I have to tell you it always inspires me when you post as you know I’m not in the medical field and I am physically disabled. But your channel is one of the few that I subscribe to and I always try to post because I think your videos are very meaningful because your warmth and your compassion really come through and as someone who is substantially older than you I went through a period of time where nurses were not as good as they are now nor was medical care.. My personal opinion the best part of your videos it’s just you your warmth and compassion just really come through always even when you’re struggling. You are physically beautiful as well as have a genuine warm kind heart and that’s the most important thing. Don’t get rattled by anybody just be you. Also belated happy birthday. I sent you an E gift card to your business email account because I couldn’t get Physical one to PO Box to you. I hope you received it and enjoy it. Also it’s worth stating that I found your channel at the beginning of Covid and I found it so inspirational and helped me get through hard days so just don’t fix what isn’t broken, you can always add more and change but your subscribers just love you being you. Just my opinion you rock. Enjoy the Drake concert I have a friend that lives in Ohio I wish I could meet you one of these days I know you love Labor and delivery, but if I was younger I wish you would’ve dealt with children. Because I see how you are with Xander and I know you would be amazing with pediatrics also hope you had an excellent vacation please keep posting videos and keep being Madi 🙂😇❤. Remember what it says on the piece of paper next to your desk you are loved. I’m not terribly religious but you always make me feel better about being me and life’s Daily challenges. :-)

Hi Madi. I’m graduating in 2 weeks and am moving to Cleveland from NY to start in the NICU and I am soooo scared. Moving to a whole new state is a big task in itself and then the idea that I am going to taking of the tiniest little babes and I learned next to nothing about it in school 😬😬😬. I’ve been watching you all throughout nursing school and you have been such an inspiration and I am sure you are an amazing nurse and will become and amazing teacher!!!

I’ve watched so many people on KZread go through nursing school and start off night shift and say the exact things you are. Night shift sucks the lives outta people! I lost my baby when she was a week old from a heart defect, we had no idea she had it until 2 days after she was born. It was hard to go thru, but I’m ok now (this happened in 2012). I know it’s hard to understand why things like that happen, but that’s part of that person’s journey. I’ve learned a lot about life after my daughter’s passing. It’s so hard on parents at first, but it gets better over time. I hope things look up for you! I’m in nursing school now and I’m dreading night shift 😫 Hang in there!! ❤

What you said about doctors and such is so true! I’ve heard about times when people told my mamaw that she wasn’t a nurse because she is an LPN. It broke my heart because it hurts my mamaw so bad. But I understand that as well, I used to be a CNA at my local nursing home and the RN’s were so rude to me. I asked my assigned RN to help me with something I have to do and she literally told me that she went to nursing school for a reason and that it was my job now. Luckily, an LPN who had finished one of her jobs came and helped me, but still. I had not been working for very long when that happened and it bothered me a bit. 😊

Omg??/ I turned 24 on April 10th-- happy super belated birthday madi! I just completed my second semester of nursing school and I'll be starting my third sem in a few weeks and I just want to say I've always enjoyed being a silent viewer and just seeing how much you enjoyed life while persevering through nursing school. I'm so proud of everything you've accomplished and while I can't understand your feelings just yet because I haven't gotten to the RN position yet, I think all of your feelings are very valid. For me, your personality has always been super inspiring and I really hope you get more time to enjoy things outside of work and sleep!
