Mist fell when Elsa and Anna's parents were pre-teens, you said they went to the trolls not long after and saw a pregnant woman, if the woman is carrying the unborn Kristoff that would mean Kristoff is a decade or more older than the barely-an-adult Anna. Not an unusual thing to happen for the time period but a very unusual thing to happen in a Disney movie. If Kristoff's parents were kids, teens, or pre-teens when the mist fell, that would make sense and that's what I always thought. Unless Disney is endorsing childhood pregnancy and the king and queen met the woman when they were all teenagers, that meeting couldn't have been shortly after the mists fell and the woman be Kristoff's mother at the same time

So my comment is just about this movie and not the book or the movie Malificent. The first two sentences of this movie he mentioned led me to believe this theory that the queen was actually barren and couldn't have children. They went to Malificent for help, who probably wasn't a dark fairy at that point. However, she had to use dark magic to help the queen get pregnant. Nature decided the queen was going to be barren, so Malificent had to use dark magic to cause the unnatural birth of Aurora. This made Malificent into a dsrk fairy, but keep in mind that dark doesn't necessarily mean evil, it depends on why you use it. She used dark magic to pull off a miracle. Furthermore, the king and queen probably promised Malificent they would invite her to the party and possibly even make her godmother but then decided to stab Malificent in the back by breaking that promise. That's why Malificent showed up enraged and decided to take away their miracle child.
