For the past three years, I've been cycling around the world in search of stories, from the eye-opening, to the bizarre, to the inspiring. Along the way, I've interviewed local people in 18 different countries to better understand their cultures and, in turn, my own.
Cycling the world shows you a side of countries and cultures that most travellers never get to appreciate. From 2018-19, with almost no cycling experience, I got my hands on a bike, flew it to Northern Norway, and cycled 6,000km through 11 countries to Azerbaijan. Though the physical and psychological challenge was overwhelming at times, I found motivation in the people I met on the road, the stories they had to tell, and the kindness of strangers who helped me along the way.
I've now cycle toured over 10,000km, and interviewed countless locals along the way. So if you want to want to explore the world through some of it's more obscure stories that you won't find anywhere else, you're in the right place!

Let's go
Thank you so much! I'm from Sicily and it seems I'm not related with that, but I feel a sort of connection with Isle of Man. Sicily is an island as well, struggling somehow with mainland Italy...and the most interesting point is the same trinacria 3 legs symbol, on the flag, sicilian flag has the same symbol
Surprised the King Charles Dutchy of Cornwall wasn’t mentioned along with the taxes
Those who back the British government are traitors and should be ashamed of turning on their countrymen! At the end of the day you are all Irish and the English hate you just as much as the Irish who want Ireland free! Wake up!
😂 It's funny how many different places like this eventually get Taken over And So-Called Peaceably Converted into Britain
Heres the true story Ireland - when we in the UK were being flooded from the 60s onwards with tens of thousands (now millions) of stone age africans and asians - you were left alone. And why? because you were too busy killing eachother in the name of 'nationalism' and 'religion'. Whilst all that were going on, the demons in charge were happy to leave you to it. Now that is all over - and its YOUR turn to get a taste of 'multi-culturialism' - And WHERE are your IRA heroes now? where is sinn fein? They are completely, 100%, on board with this cultural destruction of the country. They are bought and paid for by the WEF, The WHO, and the EU. And the irony is - they always were! The whole history of 'the troubles' from 1968 onward was an absolute scam, controlled by the demons in charge, to divide, mass murder and ultimately conquer. the IRA were a marxist/communist organization of criminal gangsters working for the elite who didnt care a flying fuck about ireland (and they just used as cannon fodder the dumb foot-soldiers who actually did) Now, theyve got their marxist/communist utopia and they are very happy, hence the deafening silence from them And its no different with the UDA. Another organization totally bought and paid for by the deep state. A 'protestant' gang commited to 'keeping Ulster british'' ! well - theyve got their wish! Northern ireland can now embrace the british multi-cultural society in full. And wheres the UDA in opposition to all this? again - deafening silence Youve been royally mugged Ireland. All those years of the 'troubles' - all that death and destruction, tens of thousands murdered, families and communities destroyed - all for NOTHING! and now here you are, taking your place at the table in the new world order, as it was planned all along. Good luck
If anybody in Belfast thought their 'Troubles' were over, think again. They're just beginning. Diversity/multi culturalism will be a lot worse than Catholic v Protestant
It's sure great there now, with all the non European migrants - wonderful.
Cymru Rydd! 🏴
Cornwall is what Wales could have become. We must always fight Anglo Saxon expansion at every corner.
Derryck is a communist East German jew.. He has been taught internet technology since grade school. He lives at 713 Westbury Lane Bethlehem,GA.30620. Knock on the door.
Put it up for a vote of the people.
Henry VIII stole church property and gave it to his supporters (Nobles/Aristocracy). That needs to be returned with an apology!!
While I'm very grateful for the reunification, I think, in hindsight, it might have been better if the actually democratic GDR took its time to recover on its own after the wall fell and not fall prey to our western ways.
Excellent documentary. Is there a credible documentary about the role of Irish-Americans during the Troubles Conflict?
I remember all this stuff so well. S long time ago
The Brits are murderous squatters that don’t know when to leave. Belfast is a Concentration Camp for the Irish people. I pray One day Ireland unites to its natural state.
I've been to the UK a couple of times but never got the chance to visit Liverpool, where I love the accent, the football, and the music history. Now this city is on my list of things to do before I die!!!
islands cannot Vike. Get your facts straight ffs. Viking is a noun, it's the past participle of the Verb to Vike. Viking means to go raiding. the Vikings were a series of sea-bourn raids carried out by various Northern Europeans against the rest of Europe, it IS NOT a culture, a nationality, or a job, it's an action carried out by any number of professions from 3 or 4 cultures. the term is Nordo-Gaelic Islands. not 'celtic viking islands'
There's so much to see in Shetland it's almost laughable. I've been here all my life (31 years) and still have so much more to explore
We love you Liverpool we do ❤️❤️ ynwa
An interesting documentary.
Saw you in gott in one scene
Well spotted!
It's about religion..why wouldn't you want protestants or loyalists to live peacefully in Northern Ireland with out petrol bombs being thrown over the boarder..they are just as Irish as any Catholic..car bombs in London killing teenager..Father's teaching their son's to hate the protestants and hate UK or Britain..you are British weather you like it or not William of Orange loved Ireland and was Irish like us..pope fought unification of the dutchlands and uk
…nothing to do with religion. It was about national identity. And the word is “border” not boarder…smh. English not your native tongue?
Never, I repeat never, give up your arms !
Actually it was NOT communist at all. It was a mixture of Socialism and private business, much more private business than today: Restaurants, pubs, bakers, butchers, cartwrights, workshops, glaciers - and lots of many others. A paradise of smaller business people. They never became rich, but they all could live properly.
ROYALS. ARE. PEDOS
He should have said to the Americans if the Mexicans came and took over America.. wait NeverMind that already happened
As an American, I promise you that the last thing England, etc, should do is to get rid of the monarchy to become a presidential Republic! All our politicians do is muck everything up & its becoming a nightmare to live here! LONG LIVE THE MONARCH! Also, if you dump your monarchy, y'all can kiss about 2 billion pounds a year in tourism
Poor Billy Hutchinson can't believe that the Irish People in a United Ireland wouldn't do what the Unionists done to the Irish People in the Six Counties after Partition in 1921. This sums up their mentality, as in total Power and Majority, they would probably do the same again The Irish People in Ireland are just not wired that way thankfully. .
Well wee Billy will probably never have to find out. Unlikely that he will live long enough to ever see a united Ireland. I doubt he would have 30+ years left in him.
@GerryAds The Open Port in Belfast for migrants to flood Ireland, is in itself enough for Irish People to demand a Referendum. We have had enough of Westminster using this Island as a Political football. We now don't have the luxury of waiting to suit Unionists.
@@Judgementday-qp1ol it is enough for Irish people to demand from our Government to close the border with Northern Ireland. Start doing checks on trains, buses and cars coming into Ireland from the United Kingdom, namely Northern Ireland. Time to protect our country and protect our borders. Northern Ireland never was nor ever will be a part of our country. Time for republican terrorists to accept that fact. Northern Ireland, the orphan State - not wanted by the British and not wanted by the Irish.
When the Shetland person was talking in a way others can understand her, she sounded just like people from Fraserburgh
Get ready for this to come to the republic
Nice video...Born and raised in Liverpool. Now, I live over the pond but my best memories are from this city I hold dear. Scouser forever...
It does seem weird to see the map of Ireland with the little patch of British flag. How would Britain feel if it were the other way around
1:07 Holy shit that wee ass car went bursted into shite like me brains when I can't put two and two together for longer than 10 seconds.
Hi there, I'm starting a bikepacking trip to and through Ireland next week. Currently I'm still not sure about which direction to cycle is wiser due to the wind in Ireland. I could go either from north to south or south to north on the westcoast. Do you have any reccomandation? How did it go on your way from south to north?
Good luck with your trip! I believe the prevailing wind comes from the Southeast, so South to North might give you a better chance of cycling with the wind. Having said that we still dealt with a fair bit of headwind on our way north. Wishing you many tailwinds!
England should just grow up and leave
You forgot to mention how the English secret services helped the protestant police and the UVF with intelligence info, equipment and dirty tactics that helped the sectarian murders
The movement and drive for independence, is far from over. And it won't be until we're out and sovereign. The support is as strong now as its ever been. And the support for the union has NEVER been lower. 46% on average in the last 12 months. A decline of 9 points since the 2014 ref.
Thats an awesome look to this Island. Im from Puerto Rico. We are to America, what your Island is to UK. I just wish my people protected it the way you do. We lost our indigenuos language as well. God bless all those who live there.
The Irish struggle has been going on since the 1200's when the English/Normans invaded Ireland. The English committed virtual genocide on the Irish, resulting in the death of many thousands of people and the geatest impact on the Irish culture. The troubles were only the last great effort in retaking their homeland.
Hero far as I'm concerned, yes Welshman typing here.
this is why Irish people support Palestine struggle because they know what oppression is
Absolute dickheads in my opinion.
Does "bloody sunday" refer to a sunday where protesters are beaten and killed; I ask this beecause in Selma, a U.S. southern city, there was a bloody sunday.
Pretty much. On the 30th January 1972, British soldiers opened fire on a number of unarmed civilians rights protesters, killing 13 and injuring at least 15 others.
The loyalist sounds like he just wants to kill someone. All for the wrong reasons. Nothing logical from the "British/loyalist" side but greed and power from the lands of people in another country and still won't accept defeat or apologize for an occupation by the definition to a tee.
It's just the uneasy peace from the Good Friday accords. It's uneasy peace, but it is a whole lot better than bombs and bullets.
My dad was Manx and spoke Gaelg as did his parents. My mum was Irish, they met in the IoM, but moved to Yorkshire 4 months before I was born. I have not a drop of English blood in me, Manx, Irish, Scottish & Norse I’m very proud to say. I consider myself British, but although I love Ireland, the Isle of Man is my spiritual home, I just love it so much, and feel as protective of its culture and ‘traa dy liooar’ lifestyle as your interviewees. I’m currently ynsagh Gaelg (learning Manx) in honour of my dad and the country I feel I belong to (even though, unlike Ireland, I couldn’t claim citizenship).
Awwww not the pick mes in the comments try to erase this identity
The Skerries folk sound like Scandinavians speaking English 😀
As a half-Norwegian I thought so too! There's so much Scandinavian influence on those islands
