Cycle Touring Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way: Part 2 | TORRENTIAL Rain
Cycle Touring Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way - Bike Touring West Ireland: Part 2.
We continued cycle touring Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way, a 2,500km coastal road up the west coast of Ireland. This time, we were bike touring from Galway to Belfast, a journey that would take 11 days.
In this episode of the bike touring adventure, the British Isles cycle tour continues. In the last leg of our cycle tour through Ireland, we pedalled through relentless autumn storms towards Northern Ireland. the Irish hospitality we experienced continued to amaze us, and helped motivate us to keep cycling through the wind and rain.
2023 Update: These cycle touring videos were filmed back in 2021. As of 2023 Jill and I are no longer together and Jill is not affiliated with this channel in any way. Wishing her all the best for the future!

The people from Ireland who helped you and offered you to stay at their home are very courteous folks. Stunningly beautiful countryside! Thanks.

Well I did warn ye about the "Land of the sideways rain" when cycling the wild west of Ireland, but you battled on and made it through so fair play to you both. Thoroughly enjoyed the video as always 😉

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Haha you did indeed, and it continued to live up to the name! I will say, however, that the weather in the coming videos from Scotland make our journey through Ireland look like a Mediterranean getaway 😅

@@TieranFreedman Oh wow, you really had it tough then. I don't know whether you were brave or crazy to be cycling in Scotland in October. Probably a little of both😆

Breathingly beautiful journey in Ireland🎉the fine film cutting keeps the long journey looks well organised as well as well presented, whole story neat, fluid, without a single useless picture being inserted. You guys is one of the best pair of couples i've ever seen, absolutely always in sync, clicks at the right time. Keep it up!❤

You are in my part of the world - Mayo - I was born and grew up there. But you picked a terrible month to be there.

It was really stunning there, even in the pouring rain. Haha our initial plan had us making it there by late August/early September. Unfortunately our bikes weren't built for that kind of speed 😅
Great bike touring video. I live and bike touring here In Florida, it's so different.

@@TieranFreedmanright now is hot and humid in Florida but winter months are great. Heading up north to ride Erie Canal Trail. Looking forward to that and posting videos as I ride.
I wonder how different this would be in America. Since you can't stop in random peoples houses in most of the country

I think fully-loaded bikes are a bit of an ice-breaker. So how people receive you if you're travelling by car or something is very different from cycle touring. I've cycled toured in several different countries and always am so surprised by the hospitality I've been lucky enough to experience, even in places that are typically considered more reserved. I really hadn't expected it in the UK or Ireland to be honest, but it totally blew me away.
I will be in north west Ireland in September ( Bondoran ) any footage of that area ?

I actually had some big technical problems when we were cycling through there and didn't end up filming much because I was so stressed about it 😅 but you can catch a glimpse of that area at 11.51. Enjoy your trip!

You are free to wild camp on any public land, but in some places it can be quite exposed or marshy. The weather is often quite challenging too. So we opted for knocking on locals doors to see if we could camp in their gardens! Met a lot of wonderful people that way. Glad you enjoyed the video, and good luck!
