Hear me out here. Vine is a tit. But… Barton has brought this on himself, he could easily have debated Vine and Aluko without needing the defame them. This is on Barton, he had the freedom of expression to debate them but his words carry consequences. On the go fund me issue, Barton makes no sense. If he has the money to fight his legal battle then he doesn’t need go fund me. If he is giving the proceeds of the ‘win’ to Alderhay then he could have just set a go fund me up for them directly. By linking his libel case to the hospital he’s actually using some people’s good will and charity for the cause (Alderhay) to bolster a view that people support his libel case. It’s a mess, and he’s brought this on himself.
