This was amazing. One more warning to those with larger noses like mine. if you wear a dirt bike helmet rocks can still get kicked up and hit your nose. it (probably) wont kill you but it does hurt. but that also didn't stop me from daily riding with a dirt bike helmet for 5 years straight despite having multiple nice full face ones.

They have cheaper dual band radios that have Bluetooth now a days I would go that route to save money and have more functionality but I don’t think they had them when you uploaded this.

Texas weather baffles me. Blizzard? Yes. Scorching heat? Yes. Tornados? Also yes. Man, stay safe 🤙 To think I started watching just because of the everyman approach in the BSOS... Didn't expect you having to set the record straight in regards to safety. Bennetts BikeSocial did a more serious take on the issue, that video really put a bullet on F9 reputation.

Think hard plastic vs d30 needs to be a different debate all together... That said.. I have slid at approx 40mph with the armor out of my jeans but still in my jacket.. and that's how I'll keep riding. Ended up with a bit of rash on my knee but otherwise fine. Everything needs to be a balance.. considering most Americans don't like any gear at all, think I'm doing pretty good in full gear with just no knee armor lol😅

@@TheGardenSnake our insurance is mandatory to be on the road. You need at least third party coverage so if you kill someone and get sued it's covered. Which correct me if I'm wrong is the same in Texas yeah? We aren't "forced to use one company we all agreed on" like you said. Not sure who's telling you these things. Though the bc comments are pretty spot on lol

The only problem I have with the armored shirts is that I feel like they would rip in a slide and then the protectors could move out of the way so you'd still get road rash. I don't wear gear if it's not at least AA rated. The new alpinestars gp plus r v4 rideknit is actually a lot better than I expected and it flows air really well and it's protective in a slide

i think the point of Ryans Video was to highlight the issue, that all gear manufacturers use armor that doesnt prevent bone fractures. I think that more people should be talking about the fact, that no manufacturer in the moto gear industry tries to innovate and create armor that actually prevents fractures.

The irony of this bit is you riding your training wheel equipped super moto on pavement, while up here in B.C. we’re riding full size adventure bikes in some of the most hardcore, mountainous terrain in North America … stay away, you’re not welcome. Addressing your comments on RYANF9, it’s easy to see that Ryan’s video, which was simply pointing out the inadequacies of current MC PPE regulations, is simply too much for a simple minded individual as yourself to understand. Ride safe.

I think F9 was trying to get at the fact that the armor shipped with most jackets is basically useless, so no point having there IF (load bearing if) you dont upgrade the armor to actual quality stuff. basically, stock armor=bad

I think my biggest issue is Ryan such a huge voice in the moto community and he knows the impact he has but he cherrypicked data and didn't even reach out to the researchers who initially did those studies. All of them disavowed the video. Also when you crash and have a spinal injury from the impact, abrasion will be the least of your worries lol. If you care about safety and actually want to follow the research, airbags are the way to go. They're just expensive, but more justifiable when you consider cost of missing work, medical bills, etc. As a dualsport rider I do follow your approach to gear. For those that are concerned about abrasion, the adventure spec super shirt is a product that is basically mx armor but with an abrasion resistant layer. It's ce AA rated, which is probably the same rating as most people's jackets. It's gonna protect you while flowing air. It's pretty pricey but it does save money when it comes to layering. If it's cold you can just throw on a parka or a hoodie or whatever and you're not losing any safety aspect. You don't need to pay for moto specific gear and pay the markup that comes with it. Just something to consider, I wish I knew about it when I initially bought my armor.

Eh, knox AAA shirt, backpack airbag and knee/elbow armour... Less than 800 all together, flows all the air youd want, AAA abrasion resistance and full body coverage with the airbag+stand alone armour. Offroad, onroad and track use certified here in EU. Dont complicate simple things.

What the hell is that insurance stuff? Over here out east theres the society of automotive insurance (loose translation) wich is more or less an american dmv but doubles as a provincial insurance for everyone that has a registered vehicule. On top of that, you are required to have personal insurance in order to be legal on the street. That one you can freely choose whatever company you please. So for example, if you get in an accident and you are physically hurt, the provincial insurance can pay for your body damage lets say, they can also provide income if you are hospitalized for a long period. Meanwhile your personal insurance can do this with proper coverage AND they can pay for property damage wether its your property or someone else's like if you destroyed a road sign or simply wrecked your bike in a ditch or even banged up someones car. Thats very crudely explained mind you, there's much more depth to it. So im incredibly curious as to what kind of fucked up system is in place out west according to mister snakes explanation
