Id rather have the old phase switch instead of coil splitting. The out of phase was funky.

Love this guitar! Super versatile! Only the tuners are very bad. Changed them for some good quality locking tuners and swapped the bridge for a roller. Now it's perfect!

Absolutely awesome!! I've played and owned Guild guitars since 1976, with my first being a Traditional D-55 from the Westerly RI factory. Have since added a F-512 AND A D-40. Will now be adding a M-260e. What a fantastic-sounding guitar. It's easy to hear the baked-in Guild sound in that smaller body.

Those pickups sound hotter than the original HB-1 pickups. They still sound good but different.

The Macassar rbony imparts a very metallic tone due to it's hardness and density. I went with ebony pins and nickel-bronze strings. Still get rapid note decay but the sharp edge of the tonewood is reduced and it's very enjoyable.

i bought one these jumbos years ago--have owned a reg guild j 55 also for many years which this guitar copies--i was really pleased-- i did my set up minor fret work for my gauge strings and set my saddle at the preferred height--have played it off and on but mostly rested in its foam case--i was gonna sell some of my guitars got this down to check it out after about 2 years not being touched--still in tune---heavy and solid built--just how i had left it last- action perfect-forgot how good it sounds--i am 67 years old -i never had a bad guild

I've been meticulously researching for an SG to replace my 2000 SG Special I lost to an unscrupulous pawn shop lady a few years ago. The Polara came up repeatedly during my investigation. I own a Guild A-150 archtop which I am completely in love with for jazz work, so I figured "why not?" I have a cherry red Deluxe on order.
