Guild Polara Demo

Музыка

The Polara has been a standout in the Guild solid body lineup since the early 1970s. From hard hitting riffs by Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil to rock tones from Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein, the Polara is a versatile instrument with a vibe all its own.
The base model in the Polara platform, which includes Deluxe, Artist Signature, and USA options above it, packs a special combination of timeless design and modern features. Built on a stripped down, no-frills design approach, the Polara has an ultra-light ergonomic body thanks to its contouring and minimalistic hardware package. Notably, a string-through body design transmits string resonance straight through the mahogany body delivering massive sustain and response. A diagonal string layout matches Guild’s compensated stopbar design first introduced in the early 1970s.
The Polara features uncovered HB-2+ pickups, which are modern extensions of the coveted Guild HB-1 oversized humbuckers, built in a traditional size humbucker with Alnico V magnets. These hot-wound HB-2+ pickups brings a variety of boutique quality tones with loads of character and voice.
Hard hitting and eye catching colors complimented by the uncovered HB-2+ pickups with black pole pieces bring a vibe that pairs perfectly with the Polara’s offset and rock ready design. Available in Voltage Yellow, Phantom Green and Blue Steel gloss finishes.

The question isn't "should I buy one?" it's "What colour should I buy?"

Definitely yellow. There aren’t enough guitars with that color out there!

@@tomaslopez2940 that was my choice #3, I've already owned several yellow guitars and it's a bit too yellow for my taste. It's between the blue and green.🤔

I am definately getting the one in Blue Steel. Derek Zoolander's iconic pose! Unbeatable.

What i'm hearing here is a guitar that sounds like an SG, then sounds like a Tele, then a Strat, it's like it's all rolled into one, and yet you can pull out these great sounds from it. The dirty chords were great, proper in your face. Decided to pull the trigger on the yellow one. Just have to wait for it now in the UK

If you are considering a Guild go for it. It will be a prized possession unlike anything else. My guild M 80 has been with me since the early 90’s. It’s literally the best guitar I have ever played. Nothing comes close. Guilds make fender and Gibson feel cheap.

The green one is awesome. Are they as thin like an SG...any neck dive issues?

Tough choice. The green is beautiful, but as someone else said I can't ignore the beautiful blue color that's named after Derek Zoolander's iconic look, who is the most handsome man to ever exist and an avid advocate for ants. It's gonna be a really hard decision for me to yellow.

All I ask is that they not make a lefty version of the blue steel. As we all know Derek couldn't turn left, so this guitar should not be played left.

I like the butterscotch or what color are they calling it? The Blue Steel, Sunburst all beautiful. Have never taken to black guitars for whatever reason.

Thing abt guild is that they give you a lot of guitar for the money you pay. It really shows you how the industry is gouging its customers today. 1500 for an mim fender or even an epiphone is insane. It does not matter if they’re higher spec they’re still apart of the cheapie line. Fender at that price used to be mij which was a step up in quality and gibsons were mij orvilles. Its sad what theyre doing and a recipe to keep pushing ppl to brands like ibanez and guild which offer so much more for the price.

Guild could have done better with those pickups. Only a minor upgrade and they would have a monster for cheap.....and it wouldn't even have to compete with the next bump up in price-point.

They are the same pickups they put in the deluxe model. I will admit they sound a bit muffled here, but I think it's the amp settings purposefully set to make this guitar seem a little less premium than the deluxe. Marketing ya know? They just sounds better in the Deluxe demo.
