The joyo on 1/2 gain and no Tube screamer matched the tone of the mesa on full gain with tube screamer to me. Joyo with tube screamer for me. Not because of the price but because of the sound.

Hey dude instant sub. Great demo and great playing. Really loved hearing these two. I think i like the joyo. Keep up the great channel. I have the Bluguitar Mercury and just cant get enough. This would be an amp from the other direction

I didn't expect to be so impressed by the clean channel! The Mesa hi gain sounds fuller but the Zombie will get you in the ball park for a fraction of the price and that clean channel makes it really versatile, takes pedals really well too.

the best way to do these comparisons is to A/B the sounds back to back in small snippets so you can really compare in real time.

The Joyo sounds amazing clean and the dirt is phenomenal too

I have a joyo bantamp zombie II and I highly recommend it if someone is thinking about buying it 😁

@@jeremyvanhorn2645 It’s not a question of if a 2x12 will sound best with it, it’s a case of: Do you prefer a 1x12 for portability, 2x12 for moving more air/volume, tone and some portability, or a 4x12 for moving the most air/volume and don’t care about portability at all? I always think a 2x12 is the best, especially for Metal, Rock and playing pubs/clubs. 1x12 for fantastic for portability, but you loose a some of bottom-end & volume, but that doesn’t matter so much if your going out of a PA system. (Front of house) I love “closed back 2x12’s,” as they sit somewhere in the middle and has a great tone.

@@jazznotes3802 That's pretty much what I'm going to do. I have a Peavey XXX 2x12 combo I'm splitting up into a head and 2x12 cab. So I'll use both(not at the same time tho) with this 212 cab. At some point I may get a vintage 30s 212 cab tho

Pretty sad, an under $200 pedal is more versatile than the actual Mesa.

I actually prefer the joyo from what i hear on this video

I have the Jackman II and use it with the Joyo Dark Flame pedal. The sound is insane. Now I'm thinking about buying the Meteor II or the Zombie II. or both ? 😂😂 Great video by the way 👍🏻😂

DRers cost like $3k here is Aus, Zombie is like $250 (AUD), also don't need a boost for the Joyo and hell you can just velcro a gate to the side of it

I can hear some slight differences in dirt settings but nothing that can't be tweaked with an eq in the fx loop ( adding noise gate to cut the hum )

I don't think its really supposed to emulate a rec, but a Mk II. It sounds way more similar to a Mk II.

It takes the mesa flux drive od very well when using the od as clean boost. Straight up MOP and and justice tones right away.

Have the zombie best video I've seen didn't know how effects would work on it tube screamer and a mesa boogie tube otw

Did you run the Tube Screamer in series or in the effects loop?

i just got the 2c zombie perfect.........i love the bassbuzz almost fuzz sound... i use my go pod mesa dr amp sim .....wow.......this amp the zombie even does the cramp......best little amp ever.. anything 50 60 70 80 90 music perfect.......thanx joyo...my back loves it.........

I can't find the video on the Joyo zombie 2 with the eq in the loop.

Sounds great, of course it’s not the true Mesa Rec but dang it’s sounds great, you should do another demo putting an eq pedal in the loop of the Zombie! Tons of tonal shaping!

Ola Englund has a great review of this amp as well! I believe he plays it raw and boosted too.

Love the sound I get from the Joyo but it just isn’t loud enough. It peaks at around 10 o’ clock on the volume knob. I tried it through a 4x12 even and it was not loud.

No canal clean é baixo o volume em uma 4x12 , mas estranho que liguei em uma 2x12 e o som ficou mais alto no clean, só que a 2x12 estava em 16ohms e a 4x12 em 8 ohms

I use it with the harley benton 2x12 with V30 speakers and it is AMAZING.

The zombie is darker, but i like it more

How is clean clean sound?

boogie has more punch and clarity

I have the zombie but grew stale of it very quickly

Ok, If I didn't see the logo of the mesa/zombie and your comments I could swear that the mesa is the hybrid small 20W amp and Joyo is the full valve head. That clean you got in the mesa is ...garbage, what I would spect from a 20W amp. The mesa sounded more Fizzy, the real mesa bennefited much more of a mid booster like tube screamer than the joyo, which is weird.

Honestly, it's hard to believe that a mesa can't play a real clean😮..are you sure you did not some mistakes?..anyway i bought a zombie II..can't wait ! I'm not into high gain stuff, but i hope i'll be able to recreate a good crunchy tone like some old stuff from early Larry Carlton..who knows..this little head it's my only chance to come in the mesa territory..i could never afford a real one😅

Hello. Can the BantAmp be used without connection to the speaker output and without connection to the headphone output at the same time, without harming the amplifier? Would the amplifier suffer some kind of damage at the moment or in the long run? I want to output the signal through the amplifier send to an audio interface to record the signal without cabinet emulation so that I can use my custom impulse responses, and at the same time I don't want to have headphones and/or speakers connected for a while, can this be done without damaging the amplifier? Thank you

Yes! I record my demo with the phone output! And its sounds really good

It can be run without a load. The tube is only the preamp and uses a solid state power amp. It can be used like any other solid state practice amp.

is it loud enough for ~100 people audience gigs?

For the research I’ve done, it most definitely should be able to handle a gig of that size. If not then worst case scenario is having to mic it but just from what I’ve seen you shouldn’t have to since the JOYO can easily hit ~120db easily in the right cab

Yes, absolutely. If you hook it up to a 212 or a 412 cabinet it should be more then enough !

Just because someone puts two things side by side, it doesn't mean that they're comparable. Take both of these amps on stage, and the lesson will be learned in seconds.

The problem is.. The joyo doesn't have a mid control!!! :c I don't want a lot of mids haha

Maybe a bit too much gain? That's a thing? 🤪 Good thing is, you can turn it down. The mesa doesn't sound bad, because it sounds good. In fact, it sounds so good, they made the zombie to sound like the mesa 🤔 Sorry, I couldn't resist

So you know what to buy. There are like 5 or 6 of those Joyo amps, all targeting different sounds. If I know this sounds like Dual rectifier, then I know not to buy this and instead buy the one that sounds like a Fender Tweed to get the sound I need.

Why cant you get rid of that 60cycle hum Einstein . Sounds like crap.
