Guild Factory Sessions - Ep.01 Jay Buchanan

Музыка

In Episode 1, Jay Buchanan performs two, unreleased tracks: My Hand and Caroline, played on a Guild D-55E and M-25E respectively. Each song is introduced by Buchanan and performed at the Guild USA factory in Oxnard, California.
Frontman of grammy-nominated American rock band, Rival Sons, Jay Buchanan is a modern-day, Rock ‘N’ Roll heavyweight. Touring with acts such as AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, KISS, and Stone Temple Pilots-Buchanan‘s stage presence and colossal vocal range are reminiscent of the greatest bluesy, rock bands of yesteryear. As a solo artist, Buchanan’s songs are tender and powerful-evoking a blend of storytelling magic largely absent in modern music. Stripped to their core and accompanied by a single acoustic guitar, Buchanan’s songs convey a beauty and rawness that allows his songwriting talent to shine brightest.

Holy, so beautiful. Got tears in my eyes right now. What a voice, so soulful. Anybody else here because they are a Guild guitar fan, and are on their email list? They are the greatest acoustic guitars ever built. I know, I have one, and out of the dozens of acoustics I have owned, these Guilds are head and shoulders above the rest. 500.00 Guilds, especially the arch backs, blow away 3000.00 Martins. There is no comparison. Get a Guild arch back. You will never find a better acoustic guitar. All the rest become junk and are never played, once you discover this truth. Peace from Kelowna, BC. Canada.

Jay, if you're reading these comments, you have to release "My Hand". It would be an instant hit in my opinion. It's simply incredible. Maybe your biggest tune EVER. I have a good ear for emotional stuff that resonates. I've already listened to it probably 50 times in the last few days, and am playing along with you on my Guild AD-3 arch back built in Mexico. Just my 2 cents man. Love it. Merry Xmas.

Does Guild make any good electric or acoustic guitars in the USA anymore? If so which ones? How about the Guild T Bird? I cant seem to find much info about which ones are US made or not.

I'm here because of the M25-E. This guitar really needs to be celebrated. I have it. It's a guitar I will never move on, which is something I do constantly (including plenty of Martins and Gibsons). It is a fabulous instrument in construction and performance. I have just sold a custom all-mahogany Martin parlour ( Westside 0-15m) which was similar in specs but which couldn't a candle to the Guild in terms of tone and playability. The Martin couldn't really handle strumming and was too 'scratchy' and bright to my ears. This is more versatile, and works for fingerpicking and lighter strumming, and has a smooth and mellow tone. With a very comfortable C shaped neck, generous string spacing at the bridge and a short scale, it is so fun to play. It also works great with Thomatik-Plectrum strings.

With a powerhouse set of pipes like this guy has , does he even need a microphone ? Would love to see a collaboration or even a tour with Blackberry Smoke.

I am a long time Guild fan and owner to include my 1959 M-20 Ghost label. Look at the dreadnought guitar in the first moments of this video.. a premium, expensive guitar built with a "B" grade top with run-out. The quality of a product is measured initially by design, materials and workmanship. I see quality control, or the lack there-of, to be problematic... a run-out top ?. This is an indicator of your manufacturing philosophy.; that along with "our new F AC T O R Y in Oxnard." You lost me if this is your new standard.

Great voice, but I still can't find songs that I remember from this guy. Very generic/not memorable songwriting, which is why I think he's never really made it. The voice is so good, but the songs are just not there. Beautiful guitar, though.
