Nashville-based guitarist R.J. Ronquillo demos the Guild Starfire I.
Based on the timeless Starfire II and III single-cut body shape, the Starfire I SC features a 2" thick, hollow body with an added bridge block for increased bridge stability and improved resonance. Made with a sturdy arched maple top, back, and sides, the Starfire I SC has the airy tonality of a hollow body instrument with bright overtones and pronounced lows.

Be honest this man could make anything sound brilliant.

Exactly…I have several big semi hollows that have Seymour Duncan’s in them, JB/59. I really want a Byrdland but too much $

I bought one and it sounds great with or without gain. These three fronds P 90 pickups are the greatest thing about the guitar. The other thing that’s cool is I believe they are Alnico II magnets so very unique tones.
The white one is awesome! 👌🏼

Picked up one in part because of this video - tones I wanted for myself. It goes well with my 5-watt Vox AC4-TV and my Fender Deluxe. Glad to explore these tones vs my Tele.

The playing style changes as its more jazzy with the SC and more rock/bluesy with the DC. Id like to hear the styles swapped also, it'd be nice.

How different is the finish compared to the starfire iv and v? Is it the same? Are they made in the same factory?

Am not sure of what I should say,,, He's great - but why allways distorted notes ..... I miss some clean and Airi notes and chords .... that does not sound electric ... I know the beast can do it - I have a Starfire 1 SC myself now

@@johnhennessey5 Well I have about 10 electric guitars ... 3 Gibsons, 3 Fenders, a new Guild, and more .... No I am not complaining it sounds electric ..... I am complaining of all the distortion ..... BB never used distortion ... just an example ... T-bone mostly played his ES5 very clean and singing.... I have an es 5 myself .... and I can get a very ringing singing tone out of it.... My main guitar's the past 25 years have been a Super Fender strat and a Nashville tele... Trough a Gibson Goldtone or a Bassmann and my Rivera together that can overdrive the output tubes into meltdown .... But there's a huge difference about "distorted sound" and "Overdrive sounds" .... OKAY
