Classic Gaming Quarterly attempts to offer an alternative to the low-effort, cookie-cutter, "me too" content flooding the gaming genre on KZread. I don't scream and curse while I play video games, try too hard to be funny, or make weird faces in the thumbnails of my videos. I attempt to make higher-effort, higher-quality, family-friendly content, and hopefully by watching my show you'll learn something new about your favorite video games. This is not my job, so uploads happen infrequently.

I just ordered everdrive X5 for Nintendo 64. Can't wait. I only have super everdrive for SNES. I bought it from retro towers website
“How much do you weigh?” Scene in Batman takes place in the alley.
I could watch your video game magazine videos all day - awesome channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hard driving on lynx and genesis = 5 fps 😂 I rented the genesis version back in the old days and got a weekend's worth of fun out of it (surprisingly).
Why doesnt mega everdrive megaman wily wars load?
Ahh my dad had this one and gave me the CoCo2. I think I eventually ended up with the TL/2. I don't recall mine having a hard drive. I do remember booting the drive with one disk, then getting to a DOS prompt and swapping disks to whatever game I wanted. I had Test Drive I and eventually II (as seen here). I loved those late 80s Porsches and dreamed of owning one when I got older. Now I'm well of age to own one and the more affluent have priced them far out of range! Fun memories on the PC though and going to the local Radio Shack.
The PC only made it as a game platform when VGA graphics was introduced in the late 80s. Prior to that Commodore had the best computer gaming both the 64 and the Amiga.
It was a great system in retrospect but the NES had way more games. I got the Genesis which was a lot of fun.
Dear god, galaga is not pronounced that way. Neither is “Jaliko”. It’s “juh-lee-co”
Actually, it is. ギャラガ is gya-ra-gah.
@@CGQuarterly that pronunciation makes zero sense to me. You don’t say ga-lah-xy. You say gal-axy. Don’t get me wrong, I see your point and am not accusing you of lying or anything, but it will never make sense to me.
Ostensibly
This video is so rad ! Long live Genesis
I have a snes my self
I loved the Saturn and the DreamCast
This guy, skipping over the Clash at Demonhead ad. That game rules.
Ever since the sega genesis was released its been the best console that's ever been made from sega but sad Sega don't realize it's potential sega really need to go back making genesis games on that console again they did well with altered beast here in America I still play it
ActRaiser is really nice, never heard of it before. reminds me of Blades of Vengeance on Sega, one of my favourite games of all time
Sega genesis Ghouls n Ghosts is so much better and so fun
The sega master system wasn't that good of a console i had it didnt have any good titles
Alien storm is a good game
I know very little about the mechanical parts of a computer but wouldn't you want to keep an older vintage computer with its stock parts? Is it not like people who collect older cars? They usually try to keep it as stock as possible, im just curious, thank you.
I didn’t do anything destructive to the computer. The hard drive appears to have died after I bought it, and those hard drives are a bit hard to come by so I chose to go with the CF card solution, but I could totally take that back out if I found a replacement hard drive.
The megadrive controller wont work with Thunderforce 4. Also Wonderboy in Monsterworld control pad problems
what a time. i loved the snes and all that classics. also the SNES had the best sound of that time by far.
Amazing video. Love this channel
On the topic of blisters from gaming, I definitely got some using a joystick with the C64, but never with a gamepad
Did we ever get that Super Gaming readthrough?
No but I’ve done most of the preparation for it.
The snes will always be in my heart screw the switch

I wanna get the retotink 2x pro my question is should I get the retro vision cables with it or the s video cables you get from retrotink ?
Sonic the hedgehog was my first game I played
I had transbot on my master system and, honestly, a REALLY good game for its time. different ship with different playstyles. The only thing that let it down was sega cheapness. Only 2 levels. it only had 2 maps and if you "git gud at it" it would go on until you died of boredom. A real shame since it was OBVIOUSLY a cost saving measure. The complete game engine was right there!! WHY sega why? To save a buck and a half... shesh. I always think sega used the 'Arcade' tag as a cost saving at the expense of the customer. Its better to say "THE ARCADE IN YOUR HOME!" instead of "It only has 2 levels im afraid we saved minor amounts of cash and ruined your gameplay.." lol ps. I owned it on CART so no excuse there....
Hoping for more of these SuperCuts!
I kind of dreamed about making boats and yachts and planes too.
I got pieces of game engine I would probably sell if it felt right too you know? It could pick me up in a game so to speak. Would possibly let me build something or do or start something. If I could start something and give it to other people to keep running I could just do that a few times or hire someone to do that or so on. I just need a lot of money to be that dream. I think me saying it and dreaming it kind won't happen totally like it too but no kidding. I have charitable billionaire dreams.
You know one of what millennials problem is is we couldn't skip grades and do these tests and we didn't all get job and trade training and we need old school skills, people making clothes and furniture and we need to make more out of all that garbage
Is this channel still active?
The Dreamcast was and still is a gem in my opinion. Ahead of its time and just great fun.
I miss them days. When EVERY game came with a booklet.
NBA Jam on the PS1 was a clear signal that home consoles would catch the arcade graphics.
I got my 64 almost by accident, they were very hard to find at launch.. At Toys R Us, you had to get a ticket for it from that aisle and take it to the cashier, but there were never any there... But I found one where it shouldn't have been and took one home that night... I loved that thing
Oh man, Armada is a great DC game that doesn't get enough attention. Scifi 4-player ship shooter with RPG elements. Give it a try. 4-player mode was where it was best
Watching this again for the third time
Nintendo Power gave us the heads up of what was coming with the future of the SNES which Japan was already experiencing. The screenshots of Super Mario World, especially the kupas on the other side of the fence caught my attention. My cousin had the Sega Genesis at the time. Saw plenty of displays of the Turbo Grafix 16. My cousin rented one as soon as Donkey Kong Country was released. Actually it was my first experience with the console. Just finishing high school and Doom made me forget about the 16-bit era as well as the golden age of PC gaming. Collected minis and collections of SNES, Genesis, and Turbo Grafix 16 in recent years only to go back and see the huge deal that I missed out on. Very strange I didn’t know very many people with a SNES so I kind of missed out on the opportunity to play it. But it definitely lived up to the hype at least on the most important games. Genesis had better games overall. But in the at least the top 25 SNES dominates. The games licensed by Nintendo and a few 3rd party games are the pinnacle of the 16-bit era.

I remember owning this issue. Love that Tomb Raider art. Even with the hilarious and unrealistic titty suction shirt.
It wasn't ready as a 6th gen console in my book. It's like an N64.7 and not the full 100% generational leap.
Genesis does what nintendon't.😊
zero percent chance an ad like "HAG" gets made today; somehow, it's more applicable now.
they should have released the sega neptune with a cd add-on instead of the 32x add-on; that would have been a better stop gap.
Hercules has nice animation man 😮
Sony's foray into the game biz was brazenly anti-competitive, imo. It destroyed a lot of healthy, creative spirit in the fledgling game industry. "established market player moves into video game industry, buys out console launch via bribes to retailers, publishers."
I think nes orginal sound more clear and soft but n8 bro more high and effective
RIP E3; another thing we just don't do anymore, for whatever reason.
