I don't want vintage guitars as a metal player. Revstar is a vintage guitar. I've had vintage guitars, compared to my modern Ibanez RG's, I much prefer the modern RG's with jumbo stainless steel frets, flat and fast necks, high output pickups etc. I've used Strats and Les Pauls for metal in the past, just not as good. I think Yamaha make great instruments, I like them, but I want Yamaha to make some modern super strats as they did in the 80's/90's. The Pacifica still doesn't quite get me where I want to go. That's geared towards the non-metal player.
Jonny boy it's not your best riff. Trust me
Love Yamahas. The 90's RG models were great. 24 frets, Floyd Rose, built for shred.
There are so many cool amps to choose from nowadays including modelers. I would probably rather have like a POD stomp with a killer powertube amp rack and a killer 2/12 on a speaker stand. But VHT are killer. Havent heard the new fryette amps
My buddy had a vht pitbul cl. He had the best live sound ive ever heard. But he didnt use the lead channel. He ran a Dod bifet preamp thru the loop fir a clean boost. These amp do not need distortion pedals.. many tones can be gotten from eddie to SRV to metal
This is the amp Satch should use on th VH tribute tour.
Hey John I just bought the 100w one you have in this video. I wish you had signed it! Its in Australia now 🤘
I've had the Element version in Swift Blue for a while now, and the longer I have owned it the less I want to play it. I do like some aspects of it. The neck is great. Its very comfortable to play. The pickups sound good. But there are some negatives that I notice more and more now; the dry filter switch does absolutely nothing. Maybe I'm not playing loud enough, but all it seems to do is make it sound duller. The 3 way slider switch feels awkward and downright cheap, like it was pulled out of a Telecaster. There's no separate volume controls. And I am really starting to detest the color of the thing. The Swift Blue just looks unnatural and ugly. I have actually considered getting it refinished in a better color, but that would cost me more than it's worth. The color I do like, Copper Red, is only offered in Europe and the UK. Why it's not available in the US is absolutely baffling. I know that I sound like I'm being unfair here, but when I bought the thing I was completely sold on it. Now I'm wanting to not even touch the thing.
I like your second guitar sound wise ….Solar is muddy
Mate are you alright? It looks like you had some neck issue? Like you’re avoiding to turn your head or something?
I really hope Yamaha doesn’t make a 7-string version of this guitar, because it would be a disaster and they’d need to wear helmets while playing it 🤏
I live the fact no shit taking on gear, he might not find desirable
I think it's fairly obvious because it doesn't have a trem and it's the polar opposite of the way metal guitars are going in that they tend to be tuned down and so most are going to use a 25.5 or even a longer scale length baritone guitar. Whereas the revstar has a shorter than typical scale length (like a les paul) The made in japan professional model is not £1500 more like £1800 (plus, as you said the money you need to replace the tuners which is going to push it closer to the £2k you've noticed guitars with roasted maple necks and locking tuners and a trem have - well that's why) - but, that said, if you're playing metal you may as well buy the revstar standard for £700-800 because you won't notice any difference. In fact you'd be as well buying a cheaper guitar that's more suited to playing metal which everyone else does and that's why you don't see them in metal. Next week we discuss why jazz bass players don't wear platform boots and pretend to vomit blood on stage.
The link you have is for the original devil's Triad, not the essentials model
Ooooo i love that Channel!!!!
Dave Grohl thanks you for the non stop everlong promotion.
Does he really think that sounded good? Really?
10 years later. I'm still here. That's insane.
still best this sh*t...
I bought a higher end Solar its a S17 type the exact name i can't remember but it has a green burl poplar top with a hipshot bridge, stainless frets, luminlay side dots, Fishman pickups, set through neck and it played so amazing. That guitar plays just as good If not better than my bc rich shredzilla and legator n7fx so i wanted to buy a cheaper solar to see if it would still slay. So i got a 2nd one. Solar A2.6 Red Cannibalismo and damn... she's a beauty and a beast.
Thats some nice new cover of Everlong.
🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺
Do you record your albums with that pod xt pro behind you?
what pickups are those?
What are your thoughts of this amp vs the EVH 5150 50 watt? I ownes one EVH and I loved it but I want to try something different. Can the kraken mkii hang?
I love this amp
I guess it's just a matter of time before we will get a DemonFX clone. 😁👍
John, do you have Ankylosing spondylitis? ( I do too) Cheers.
I was a bit confused when it had the same name as the big original pedal, but I see that this one is called the Devil's Triad - "Essentials".
Dude what's up with your neck man I hope you're okay bro. I'm new to the channel I don't know. Nice chops my friend keep up the good work.
Man, no lead lines and you can tell that John Browne is an incredible guitar player. I just received my Revstar in the mail last night. Unboxing it soon.
damn, nice licks and chords!
thanks for inspiring me to play guitar today
Nice noodling! "That's quite alot of gain isn't it." LOL!
Спасибо John крутой звук!
I recorded the audio (off of youtube mind you) and brought them into my daw, lined them up and flipped back in forth for comparison. Unfortunatley I cant post a picture, but the largest difference between the tracks is that there is an emphasis on the Left side when going through the Orion (which you can hear well in the lead guitar and cymbals) and extremely balanced stereo field from the Amari. I'm not really sure how the converters would alter this everything else being equal, but that's what I'm hearing and seeing. Everything is extremely similar (albeit after youtube)
I would kill for that finish on a guitar. Man if only this was available 2 months ago.
It’s coming!
@@JohnBrownemonuments myyyyy boiiiiiiiiiiiiii 🔥🔥
This unit still holds up today.
Maybe I'm missing something, but what is unique about this pedal? What does this offer that any other drive or distortion pedal doesn't? Honestly, from the sounds John is getting from it, looks like they just slapped a name and some graphics to sell an underwhelming product.
It’s like collecting artwork or Pokémon cards
I actually have the larger version of the Jeff Loomis devils triad, it is a very useful pedal in my opinion.
I am Jeff Loomis and you ARE missing something …. TONE
Yep. No need to buy this pedal if you already have a decent distortion pedal. Nothing new here.
mayones duvell elite 7, jp15 7 , or E-II HORIZON FR-7? i dont know which to buy.. but i'm realllly leaning toward the mayones. i want the best precision tool, where everything i play is going to be easily accessible and fast, to the highest levels.
Intro riff sounds like a everlong. Do you make a Djenty cover ? :D
nothing related to the video but how are the antelope monitor ?
Unreal. I'll be getting a video together for these shortly too
🔪💪🔥
Day's off to good when you drop a new video, this pedal sounds sick, especially with the tones you had in the beginning.
This player sounds sick.
"It's just two channels of savagery." Perfect description.
Sounds awesome but I'm just in awe of the riffage
This is fuckin sick whens it out?
Our king is back! 👑 Absolutely love everything you do. Such an inspiration!
Is it just me or old Mayo guitar was way crisper sounding?
If i recall right, its not as much about the guitars themselves, but instead the mayos had p90 style pickups when the schecter has humbuckers.
Mayones is leagues above Schecter, that’s the thing. They’re worlds apart in quality.
@@balmain2496 ones also custom shop and the other is production guitars ones 5k the other is 500-2k
Eh... He went with the budget guitar everyone can afford route. Amp too I guess...
@@flufficornss well yeah, exactly my point. Mayones are superior to almost everything out there, he went with Schecter which is a great brand but still not on the level of Mayones. Hence the drop in quality.
