    One of the few real amps I'd ever consider is a Herbert. So lush!

    Same! I have the Brainworx Herbert plugin, which is pretty phenomenal and probably all I actually need, but I certainly wouldn't mind a legit head. I did try the VH4 preamp pedal from Diezel, which was good, but it made me realize what I'm really after is the Herbert sound.

    The real amp has way to much low mids and almost no treble. I had to dime the treble and presence and have an eq in the loop to scoop the low kids just to get a sound I like.

    It is my prefered head for years.... even after owning some Marshalls and Soldano styled amps. I never understood people saying it is muddy and does not cut. And it is actually so tight in the lowend.

  • @aaaargl
    @aaaargl2 жыл бұрын

    the nice thing about the mid cut in the Diezels is that its centered around 435Hz-ish, what you normally would EQ out for a modern guitar sound. The mid-control is sat higher, so the interaction between these two controls is what makes your sound. Love Diezels with a boost in front, to tame the massive lowend.

    The other guy who did like three vids on this module got it dialed in right. John seems to like the darker 'blanket over the cabinet' sound which makes the module sound wooly, less distinct and kinda generic sounding.

    @@JohnBrownemonuments Nah - you, like some others, just like a very dark tone. For most heavy tone gear part of the signature sound which defines that gears sound is in the treble region.I mean if I heard your Synergy Herbert vid blindfolded and ask to guess what amp it was I would have never guessed what it was. But with the other guys videos I woulda shouted 'Herbert!" after the first couple of seconds. Both yourself and Ola really seem to have a strange aversion to demonstrating amps with the treble up. Try to remember when you are doing a vid demo you're playing to an audience and many in that audience like crunchy well defined sounds. Just play some riffs and leads for a few seconds with the treb control up.

    lol noone seems to be really impressed by it right now, big downer here is that the diezel powersection is missing what makes a huge part of the diezel sound, the syn 50/50 is much too weak, so those modules will not deliver the huge trademark sound, i solved this problem with pairing the syn 2 with a mighty mesa 395, new universe of sound now!! but sold the VH4 module, it sounds just dull to me, waited for the herbert also.
