Great video, I don't agree with some of the comments about playing the Swedish chainsaw sound, there's plenty of videos that have already got this covered. Nice to see someone trying it out on other applications. I'm in a similar position, I have a riff in mind that I really want to try the HM2 on but I can't get quite the right blend yet. I'm running a 5150 mk3 with the HM2 clone as a boost, I'm still tweaking but your video gave me some good ideas. My HM2 boutique clone has a clean blean which the HM2 w doesn't (and probably should) have so that's a nice addition. Would be interested to hear what the HM2 sounds like in the FX loop out of curiousity. Thanks for the content!

The palm mute chugs at 7.46 on the Marshall and 13.09 on the 5150, great for raw heavy death / thrash metal sounds other than the usual Swedish all dials maxed sound. \m/

It must have been a later valvestate because the 8100 rules. Meshuggah, Death, At the Gates, In Flames and many others thought so too!

@@JohnBrownemonuments Those three bands (and others) often had bad sound back in those days, similar to Cannibal Corpse who played terrible Crate amps at live shows and were consequently blown away by their opening acts (like Brutal Truth, for example), who often played real amps. Depends upon the instance/location with any of these bands. Considering that Death never played a (convenient) show in Florida, I never rated Death's rhythm guitar sound on recordings; just a good guitarist and songwriter.

Please research the history of how this is used. I didnt see one instance of diming everything and tremolo picking out a nasty swedish death metal riff. Is this useful for modern metal? Absolutely, if you do anything related to death metal.

Okay, these were officially the worst sounds I've heard this year. Kinda like a 120w poweramp driven into a fuzz-pedal, minus the smoke.

Seriously, you are making it sound like shit.... which is actually quite difficult :D This video does not represent very well how the pedal performs.
