I received a BA in chemistry from Carleton College, and performed graduate studies in both synthetic organic chemistry and science education at Cal State Northridge, receiving an MA in the latter. Prior to this I taught for about a decade in various high school and undergraduate settings, specializing in organic chemistry but also teaching general chemistry, physics, and biology.
This channel is for students at the high school and undergraduate level, but it is also for members of the general public who just want to know more about the world and how things work. These guys will never debate you - or any academic scholar - in a million years. They preach Scripture and are experts on fallacies and confusion. Truth be told, if you do debate them live, they will likely win that debate - simply because they will turn the burden of proof on you and will deny whatever response you give them as illogical or wrong (even if it's not). Their target audience is gullible Muslims who request them to debunk scientific claims going against Quran/Islam, so they will come up with any fallacy they can to keep the masses accepting of "atheists dumb, Islam logical". TL;DR: Kent has so little knowledge that any argument Dave presented, which didn’t address the absolute lowest level of understanding of biology, was completely misunderstood but Dave was ignorant to Kent’s ignorance. This is a very frustrating watch because you can see Kent’s thought process and reasoning but it only makes sense to him due to a complete lack of understanding of biology. Unfortunately I don’t think Prof. Dave realised during the debate just how ignorant Kent is. For example when Kent says, how does a dog “come from” an amoeba, he’s assuming a dog was a direct offspring of some arbitrary amoeba individual. Believing this, it would be completely unreasonable to argue in favour of this notion. However, of course, random mutations and shuffling of genetic material across many generations resulted in etc etc etc… Another example is Kent’s argument of ‘new information’; he thinks let’s say A C T/U G produced A C T/U G F. But again he doesn’t really conceptualise what ‘information’ is. The ‘building blocks’ did not mutate or change through evolution, the new ‘information’ is the new combinations of those building blocks (AAGGTC -> AAG*C*TC).
