Phylum Nematoda Part 2: The Parasitic Nematodes
Now that we have some information regarding nematodes, or roundworms, it's time to get a closer look at the parasitic variety. Some parasitize plants, some parasitize insects, and some parasitize humans, causing diseases in certain parts of the world. This one will get slightly graphic, so it might not be for the squeamish, but it's fascinating stuff, so take a look if you're up for it!

Interesting subject matter even if it is kinda gross. I love the diversity of topics you cover, Professor Dave . Please keep doing all the fine work and thank you for educating.
Holy crap, I didn't realize the guinea worm was that big of a success story. Impressive.
Surprisingly okay to stomach and quite interesting video! The grossest and worst part was seeing the picture of an infected dog heart with the heart worms! Like seriously? Great strides have been made in the effort of human parastites and hopefully Dracunculiasis and the Guiniae worm will soon be beaten. However the number of people that at any moment are carrying the less deadly and hurting worms is astonishing and quite scary!
Thanks for the class.
Much as i enjoy learning about interesting creatures listening to this is making me itch all over.
Excellent, Excellent Video!

@@Sv3rigeexposed That's not the point, buddy. The point is that creationists like to claim that organisms couldn't have arisen through billions of years of evolution, and hence must have been intelligently designed. If that were the case, then their god must have created these parasites. Do you understand?

What about Jihadworm ??
Wait, up to 45% of dogs in the midwestern United States are infected with heartworm?! That seems like an unreasonably high infection rate in a country like the US since it's incredibly easy to get heartworm medication for your pet. Is it just hard to diagnose cause it rarely shows symptoms? Is the medication insanely expensive so that people just can't afford it, leading to their pets having to suffer? This statistic just blows my mind...
One of my classmates/friends changed her degree after learning about parascitic roundworm to one that allows her to stay inside away from them

Any opinion on Graham Hancock & Flint Dibble on JRE 4:30:00 Podcast somehow, Flint did pretty well in his opening statement. Pseudoscience doesn't do well against facts, so just move swiftly on to the next absurd view catchy point. Comment section is a bit sad tho, just the JRE fan base suppose

Because children are unhygienic and aren't too good at washing their hands and are also plague bringing goblins that touch everything, which combined with poor hygiene further spreads infection in areas that children frequent. Such as the McDonald's playplace. (I was never allowed in fast food playscapes because my mom thought me and my siblings would get butt worms lol, and now I'm far too big to play there ;-;)
Sponge Bob would be really upset by this video…
