Hi there nice channel Have you ever engrave rings with the smallest dremmel or a pen engraver ? ? I am interested in the project if you have any tips much appreciated it . No sure what tool exactly to get any suggestions ? Big thanks in advance
Hello, thanks for checking out my channel. I haven’t engraved any rings but you can probably use Dremel Stylo for this type of project. If you’re just starting out I would also recommending getting Dremel 3000 with Dremel Flex shaft. As far as bits/burs, I enjoy using Fox Germany Round Tungsten Carbide burs, they make different sizes and they work really well. All depends on what type of metal you’re engraving as well. You can also use Diamond burs, they are cheap but they also don’t last long…it’s an option. Hope this helps!
@@TriadoCustomEngraving oh thavks for a quick replay bro .. cool will try Where can I get those better quality German bits please ? So last question the depth of the engraving in metals you do is based on the force you applied or you need to go twice for deeper engraving ? Thanks again
Why would you engrave the finish off a carbon steel slide? It needs to be stainless
Customer was going to cerakote it right after
I love this idea Max and you make it look so effortless..summer project in the making for me and my boy 🙌🏻
Haha thank you friend! I think it’s awesome and she will have it forever to remember it!
Brilliant, good vid, 👍
Thank you Darryl!
Great video Max and awesome design Alina! I need to show this to Bella and Joey!
Thank you brother! Let me know if they want something like this, we can make it happen.
@@TriadoCustomEngraving I definitely will bro! Thanks!
How can I make it look smooth all the way across the letters? It looks all scratchy…😅
Haha..what bur did you use? I used to use rubber bits to buff out some areas but it makes it really shiny.
I used a little diamond ball and a carbide ball like the one you were using I think that’s what they’re called? I just googled to try to find out lol! Do you have to go horizontally when shading?
That’s what I usually do to make it look uniform although you can do whatever looks good to you. I’ve seen some people do shading vertically as well but I think I like to go with the curvature of the bottle that’s why I go horizontally.
I think it’s an awesome video and a way to do stuff with the children I am going to try that with my grandchildren thank for the videos
Thank you very much Lloyd!
This honestly gives me the confidence to think that maybe I could do this! That looks amazing! :D
Haha thanks! This was my one and only project like this. I do need to learn how to protect guns afterwards…possibly cerakote to protect bare metal.
@@TriadoCustomEngraving Yeah, I think a clear cerakote would probably do the trick! I’ve also heard some oldtimers coat down their bare steel guns in linseed oil and that seems to work well for them.
@@Sanguivore Nice, I wonder if you have to reapply it after certain amount of time.
@@TriadoCustomEngraving I think once every 3 months, and after every firing/cleaning. But that’s just what I’ve seen others say as I don’t have experience myself yet.
@@Sanguivore Gotcha, cerakote would probably be a better choice for long run
Yay!!!!
Thank you Matt!
lovely - when theres some space left - fill it with hearts/love :D
Haha yup that was her plan all along!
Awesome idea!
Thank you very much!
Awesome work man but diamond tidbits are good as well
Thanks! Yeah they are good but burn up quick haha.
@@TriadoCustomEngraving that they do but I'll give you a hidden gem..... Harbor freight has diamond tip Dremel bits for about $9 and they've lasted me 2 months over 10 blades
Awesome, thanks for the tip! I got a bunch of Amazon bits that I still have laying around just haven’t had the chance to do any more engraving. I’ll have to check Harbor Freight maybe at some point they might have some cool stuff for cheap!
Great video! Very cool! THANK YOU!
Jim thanks so much for watching!
I've done face's on aluminum it's a softer metal but little tricky but it is fun
Yeah I’ve done one on aluminum and a few more on water bottles, doesn’t get any easier since there no room for any mess ups haha.
Hi ..as a fellow engraver I would like to thank you for your videos thay helped me greatly and are appreciated would love to collaborate on a small project someday thanks again
Hey thanks a lot for checking out my videos! I’ll check out your channel if you have one.
@@TriadoCustomEngraving yes @polishedGravel
Nice job, looks cool as hell.... Jason Statham lol
Haha thanks Matt!
…word-up dawg!
👍🏻
Use a Q tip to apply the paint works much better from my experience
Very nice, thanks!
That turned out awesome. I'd never be able to do that !
Thank you man! You can do it, just need some practice.
I borrowed your Dremel idea, it works fantastically. But the job is not finished after applying the paint. I added a thicker layer of paint to be "taller" than the original one, sanded it with 800 grid sand paper to match the line wanted to have, then wet sanded a little in the surroundings with 3000 and 5000 paper, then applied polishing paste. It's 98% gone, nobody sees it unless I tell them where I worked
Hey Radu, thanks for sharing! You are right it’s not completely flush so it definitely needs a lot more work after the Dremel. I personally don’t really care about making it look perfect as long as rust spot was taken care of. It’s been about 3 years and it’s still looking good without any issues! Glad that this worked for you as well.
Ya thank you for the good tips ! I carve on rocks and the dremel bits are all over the place, so I think that will help to carve in the direction your carving or engraving. I just wish that I had a template that I could tape down to the stone !
Nice! Yeah I haven’t carved/engraved a stone yet, maybe in the future for sure. You can probably download some kind of design online and use carbon paper to transfer on to the stone.
Great video I was wondering is the vibration on the stylo plus a little better than the dremel flex shaft ?
Hello Joseph, I can definitely see the difference in vibration. Since there is no flexshaft it’s easier on your hand and less vibrations. You do not get as much power from this unit compared to like a 3000 or 4000 with a flexshaft but for light work this unit will do just fine.
Nice man! The music is pretty fitting as well 😂
Thanks bro! Yeah I gave it some thought on what music to use and that was what stuck out to me haha.
wow man, thats amazing
Hey thanks man!
Hey.. great to see you back in action. Always wondered if the stylo was worth getting 🙌🏻
Hehe I had some free time so I figured why not make another video lol. I’ve had this thing sitting in a box for too long 😂
@@TriadoCustomEngraving 😂 did Dremel give you it?
@@EtcherArtHaha nope
@@TriadoCustomEngraving Hehehe what did you buy it for?
@@EtcherArt To make a video about it but also have something small without a flexshaft.
Glad to see you are back bro!
Thank you Matt! Hopefully I’ll have time to make a few more before I deploy again haha.
Молодец!
Спасибо большое!
Great video! You still got it!
Thank you brother!
Welcome back bro! Video quality is on point!
Thanks my dude!
How much do you charge for sharpening? I’m getting a new set and will keep one set as spare 😂
I do it for free for you Joe 😂
more zoom pls i can't see the resault...XD
Haha right on! I’ll get the telescope next time 🤣
Impressive control!
Thank you very much!
Why is a square a triangle if it’s a square? 😂
Haha I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about 🤣
Master videographer over here…
Thanks bro!
Looks great.
Thank you!
Freakin classic. Safety first shipmate! 😂
Haha thanks bro!
Seriously great work. I have a gen5 G 19 as well. I want it done just like this. How can I get into contact with you? Let’s freaking go. 😊
Thank you man! I haven’t engraved in a little while since I’m stationed on a boat. I’m in active duty coast guard and do engraving as a hobby. Also I’m not exactly sure how to protect the engraving afterwards, I might have to learn how to cerakote or maybe similar process that will protect the engraving from rusting. People recommended blueing the engraving but that will ruin the engraving (darken it). So I definitely need to do research on that. Thanks for watching my video!
i used to chisel for metal engraving because rotary for me will create inconsistence line, but after viewing your video i must say your line is consistence... you have change my mind, bravo...
Thank you! It takes practice and a steady hand but the most important part is propping up your arm so the only thing that’s moving is your wrist. I found that very helpful. Wish you luck, thanks for watching.
@@TriadoCustomEngraving thanks for your advise...
@@fikreefauzi8604No problem, Happy Easter!
great video!
Thank you Kevin!
Thanks for answering my question! I thought about going to Harbor Freight and getting a cheap grinder, but I’ve got Dermal, so thanks to you, I saved some money 👍
No problem Scott, thanks for watching!
You are in your calling brother, glory to God! It’s an inspection. How long have you been engraving?
Hey thank you man! I started engraving around 2018-2019, haven’t done it for too long but I love doing it as a hobby.
@@TriadoCustomEngraving it’s cool seeing your progress. I’m in the beginning of this journey, so I’m glad you’ve made these videos. Thanks for putting your wisdom out there for people
@@7th-MindsetThank you!
I can see me screwing this up easily. I've done carving on stone with diamond bits and even that was slippery. :)
Haha yeah it definitely takes practice! Thanks for watching.
Bro, you look like a younger version of Jason Sathom
Hahaha thanks man!
Love all the small details of info to make it easier and more comfortable!
Thank you Shaun!
As a tool & die maker, I used Diatech diamond burrs. They have a great selection of shapes, sizes, grits, & more. I used them for careful deburring on 64Rc hardened tool steel. FREE
Pretty cool, maybe I’ll give them a try when I have time for engraving again 🤙🏻
Great video ... and results. However I couldn't see the trace on bottle. I guess in reality, it was perfectly clear to you.😊
Thank you very much! Yeah black carbon paper trace is sometimes hard to see. You can use white for better visibility.
hi i was just wondering where you got your images from
Hello James thanks for watching my video, what images are you referring to?
