Wow it's so good to see all the H1 settings, set-up and different use cases. I didn't expect it to be so versatile. I wish you did more videos like this not necessarily live streams about other h series recorders. It's hard to choose just based on specifications especially for beginner like me. Very useful and extremely informative video I would love to see something similar about H4n Pro

Zoom H1n is a rare thing these days - excellent value for money, high quality electronics and amazing performance. More widely, I have never bought anything from Zoom that didn't meet these standards. Great company.

Great video tutorial thank you. I love mine. Had it from when they first launched. Only issue I ever had was sometimes after changing batteries I had to format the card. Also the clip on the battery cover broke off so I have to use insulation tape to keep the cover on. But truly one of the best investments I’ve ever made.

But I would like to ask a few things(my questions might be very basic but it would be my first time investing in an external recorder and I have no experience in sound recordings) 1: Do u recommend headphones or earphones to monitor field recordings with an iPhone? 2: Is it compatible with iPhone 13pro max? 3: if we record video on iPhone 13pro max along with Zoom H1n, do we have to use software to merge these to make a video or it automatically records in the phone gallery along with ambiance sounds? 4: can we edit sounds and videos directly on phone and upload them on KZread? 5: Is it compatible with insta360 go 2? No it wont support wireless mics, I dont recommend wireless as cell phones can sometimes produce a signal that interferes with the signal so can wifi, wireless mics are unreliable and will never be as good as wired due to latency and potential for interference. @@BestofSFStandup

Hi there. Very nice video. I just purchased a couple of these and they are great but the noise that you get when you press the record button is very very noisy. Do you know if they have come out with an app that you can record from the app to keep this from happening? I love the gadget and I have been playing around with it, but the only thing that I could see that can be very helpful is to make an app for it to be able to press record from the app rather than pressing the record button on the actual device. The mics are very sensitive so they pick up everything. You can even tap on the tripod stand legs and they pick up them so well. Even appliances such as the refrigerator is picked up. Just put some headphones on before you record and you can hear everything. It is definitely helpful to use the low cut feature as you listen to it in the headphones. Unfortunately I missed the live stream. One question I needed to ask is about recording a line level. Is there any setting to switch from mic to line input? If not how does it distinguish between the 2 levels?

MP3 is by no means low quality. It is a lossy compression, certainly. .wav will always have the pure recorded audio and is much better for editing/post, but MP3 provides astoundingly good sound for many purposes! - Zoom h1n built-in mics seem quite hissy at higher gain levels. Just a characteristic of the device I guess. External mics/line-in are fine. It is a good recorder to have with you!

Hello! Can I record my voice from recorder's mic + lavalier or shotgun mic at the same time? Or a tool to connect two jack mics in one jack input (the one we use when headphones have two jacks and the computer one jack). the h1n has a tripod screw, so you can attach it to a selfie stick, monopod or a little music mic stand adapter you can buy ..

Who told you that this device has overdubbing? I cannot get it to work following your directions. When I hold play and then press the record button, all it does is switch it to record mode. Ok. I just looked it up on Google and it says that it doesn't work in mp3 mode.

The H1n can not be used as an external microphone with Android devices.

Why isn't the audio syncing with the video here?

I notice this too, sometimes the audio was just so ever slightly off from the video.
