A tip about the zoom h1(n) is that you can get an Y-cable splitter (1stereo to 2 mono) for you lavalier mics. since those usually deliver mono sound you can have one mic for left channel and another on the right channel . Then in post production you can mix them together. This way you get away with only one zoom h1(n) for two actors if they are "close" to eachothers in relation to the zoom mic. Its a trick I got from a podcaster.

Loving the H1N! I bought it earlier this year (thanks tax return) and I've been using it on and off for a while. I'm new to using these kinds of recorders but I must say it's easy to get around! I find it crazy just how much footage and content you managed to squeeze out of the few recording sessions you did for your last short film on your equipment. Talk about making use of your time! As always, an excellent video going into quality entry-level equipment for filmmaking. I ended up picking up the lav mic you talked about in your last video; it's been amazing during the times I've used it. Might consider this in the future if I decide to start filming stuff in the field; my current mic setup (at2020 xlr microphone with audio interface) is a little cumbersome to take on the go. Keep it up D! Love you fam!

Sir, I think I have a love for buying small bags at local thrift stores to deal with the insanity. I bought a GPS bag that works excellent for this. Thrift for the win. I've also used Zoom H1 for years now with zero issues. Their customer service also replaced broken/missing parts on my Zoom H1 AFTER it was discontinued. For the reasons you've mentioned and the customer service, I always recommend their products. Years later and I have had zero failure in the device and am looking at the H1N as secondary.
