What’s the Zodiac movie about?
Based on the true story of the notorious serial killer and the intense manhunt he inspired, Zodiac is a superbly crafted thriller from top director David Fincher. Featuring an outstanding ensemble cast led by Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Chloë Sevigny, Zodiac is a searing and singularly haunting examination of twin obsessions: one man's desire to kill and another's quest for the truth. On July the 4th, 1969, the evening of the independence day, two young adults are killed by gun shots in the cities of Benicia and Vallejo in California. A man then calls local authorities and declares having done the crime. The presumed killer, nicknamed Zodiac, accompanies his claims with a riddle. Robert Graysmith (Gyllenhaal), a young newspaper cartoonist, sees his life change when he starts investing his time in decrypting the serial killer’s puzzle.

Megyn Kelly did a podcast on Zodiac and someone from a crime task force made up of retired LEOs think Gary Francis Powers is the Zodiac They are testing DNA but the show aired over a year ago and nothing was ever exposed I don’t know how ALA could be him if he’s over 6’ and most eye witness put him at 5’8 or 5’9”

Yep. Similar to JFK in that regard to me…incredibly well-done movie but shouldn’t be interpreted as truth. JFK way more so of course
I’ve always liked Elias Koteas. Very underrated actor.

Great movie
The case will probably never be solved. Honestly, it is almost mathematically impossible it wasn't ALA. I still believe it was. Yeah yeah the DNA, but it isn't even certain the DNA belonged to Zodiac or the palm prints.

they say that it's disproved by handwriting analysis but if you actually look at the handwriting comparisons it's uncanny

Damn...that would make alot sense and further push the possibility that Leigh Allen could be the Zodiac. I guess sense it was the 70's and Linda was a woman and incarcerated the police didn't think or even bother asking her.

@@Suchacard Nothing to do with being a woman. They didn't even show Mike Magaeu photos until twenty years later and he'd gotten a look at the guy when being shot.

The other guy was saying why didnt they show Linda the photos first, since she was her sister and have seen Leigh numerous times, which could've helped the case and maybe solve it alot faster. I was just implying since it was the 70's and it was different time, inmates let alone a female one was treated more submissively back then. Its just speculation. But thanks for you informative comment.

Too bad you're not a cop and too bad you have zero proof. Armchair detectives have failed for the past 50 years on this. Could just as easily be Rick.
The movie is great. But ALA was not the Zodiac.

@@stephenmurray2851 They did DNA test years ago and he was not a match. I don't know who did it. The case is unsolved.

@@davidrpriest I wish more was published about the DNA. I haven't really been able to find anything besides basic claims of it's existence and some people it didn't match. I haven't found anything about how complete the DNA profile is, anything about ancestry, if it's large/complete enough to use with a familial database, and if so whether they've made any attempts.

People go missing all the time. You’d be surprised how many unsolved cases exist. Just look at FBI John/Jane doe databases. Some are obviously murder. Technology especially that of personal self phone tracking has solved and improved a lot.But this may be a case of extreme survivorship bias when thinking there aren’t serial killers out there right now.

You are wrong, thousands of people go missing every year just in the United states alone, there are more prolific killers than the zodiak active as we speak, they are just so good we don't even know they exist.

there around 50 to 100 serial killers active. You just dont hear about them cause they dont want the attention the zodiac did.

It's hard to kill someone you know but if you just wanted to kill a random person it would probably be pretty easy if you really planned it well.
