This World Cup was an absolute treat to all football fans… so many legends

Materazzi will forever be remembered by the rest of the world as the man who was headbutted by Zidane for insulting his sister, not the man who won the world cup for his country.

You can see the result of it everywhere in this comment section, very few people seem to know how it went down: for the record. *after materazzi previously grabbed his shirt during the game, he looked intensely at zidane* Zidane: "I'll give you my shirt after the match" (a clear taunt) Materazzi: "I'd prefer your sister" That was how it went, he didn't insult his sister, he insulted him, implying his value is less than her's.

Legend has it Materazzi can still feel the impact of the Zidane’s headbutt to this day

This was the first World Cup I saw with my dad as a kid. Seeing that panenka and the headbutt made me love this game. They don’t make them like they used to.

Was 7 years old in 2006, and I vividly remember this moment. The picture on the papers the next day had the picture of zidane's infamous walk pastthe world cup. What a time that was, as a nineties kid it is just magical to have lived through the eras of Ronaldo, ronaldinho , zidane, messi and christiano. Eagerly waiting for 2022, be safe everyone.

Guy grabbed Zidane''s shirt and then Zidane said to him "I'll give you my shirt later" and then Materazzi said he would rather have his sister. That's what made him headbutt the dude. Guy had it coming.

Zidane scored, then Materazzi equalised, nullifying Zidane’s advantage and leaving him frustrated even at just being marked; after that Materazzi scored again, taking Italy to victory, and leaving Zidane to walk off the pitch alone and trophyless. One showed the animal that he is, the other won the World Cup.

Zidane is Legend but deep inside we all know that this moment kills Zidane everyday
